I have recently started to perform the Simple-H mod, as described in RichG posting of 27th August 2008 however when I opened up the Ninco Digital Controller (V1.08) the circuit layout is a little different.

See pictures below

In RichG's original post The modifications shows the removal of the Grey Track Wires, the picture RichG uses shows the wires removed and two R10 surface mount resistors, IC502 (8 leg IC) and a resistor between the two to be lifted and lead soldered to its end.

On my console the surface mount resistors are R100 the IC502 is a 14 leg chip and there is no resister to be identified

Has anyone carried out the mods on this version of controller?
And where do I solder the "white wire"

Thank you all for your help in advance its greatly appreciated.

Cheers Martin

Hi Martin

For the later Consoles use this picture, bottom of the board, for the white wire connection.

Will also send you a document with the complete instructions.

Rich,

"Enable Straight using another wire from +5 v stabilized from Ninco PB to EA, then there will be 4 wires from Ninco PB to Simple-H but you're sure you always enabling correctly and in stable way. Not depending on the voltage of the third party power supply."

Are you recommending this method to enable the Simple- H or is it better to change the resistor values?

Best regards,
Brian

Hi Brian

The original values I showed for the EA potential divider, as several people have pointed out, were incorrect. In practice they have worked and there have been no failures. My new prefered values are 5K6 to + & 3K3 to Gnd. These are tested to be fine over a wide range of voltages. You could take 5V from the Console & use this however in my design I use a stereo jack cable & socket which only has 3 connections available.

Im finally getting around to adding the simple H to my ND ver 1.08 board .
All Im missing is where do the Black and red wires get connected on the board .
The pic shows where to cut the board and add the white wire but leaves off the red and ?black locations .
It seems that All I have to do is lift the grey wires {track power?} cut the board where the white wire gets attached then........?
thanks in advance
Ed
