Constructive post here. Not trying to throw anybody under the bus.
Just looking for perspective / shared experience.

I ordered a couple cars from SCU on 3/21.
They state orders will be dispatched within 24 hours of payment received.
PayPal funds confirmed received by them the same day I ordered
I've sent a couple messages within their website for an update.
It's going on 8 days and have not heard any response.

Have ordered several things in the past from them and happy with their products / services.

Just curious on any of the potential reason(s) / shared experiences for their the "radio silence".

Are they away on holiday?
Any ideas / facts would be most appreciated.

Kind regards!

Their service has always been exemplary but then I live in France. Delivery is usually between two or three days. I can't comment on the lack of response as I have never needed to contact them, stuff just arrives as ordered.

I just wish they wouldn't keep redesigning their website. The more they change, the more overloaded and slower it becomes.

Hope you get it sorted.

We ordered a load of Ortmann tyres from Denys at Slot Car Union and they arrived in a timely fashion. I ordered a car a while ago and it took about 10 days to arrive in the UK. I am not aware of any issues. Keep trying - he is a decent man and keeps his promises.

I was the person that Mr. Modifier referred to, I ordered a whole selection of Ortmann tyres for our new Carrera GT3 club class. Assuming everything you ordered was in stock, (our tyres were not), but Slot Car Union kept me informed and I was prepared to wait but everything turned up in good time and we have the aftermath of Brexit to contend with!!!

More than likely slooow shipping.
The German company I do business with is DHL. Packages tend to accumulate on their side until there is a container full. Then it’s US Customs.
Curious if you’ll get dinged with tariffs when it passes through customs.

I’m waiting for them to first advise when they’ve sent them out.
I’ve had good experience with their international carrier.

Will let you know if I get hit with any tariffs.
Trying to spread my business to all the past dealers I‘ve purchased from.

Cross-Border Commerce more than ever now seems to be at the delusional mercy of the political clown classes.

With our metaphorical fingers crossed, we fire off into the interweb our slottery orders and then perforce must forget all about such until that happy day when, suddenly, our post-person, delivery drone, arrives with an eagerly anticipated parcelled pleasantness from afar …

The tracked delivery route from Slot Car Union to me in Republican Wild West Cork always seem to go via a few days long wait in a mysterious parcel hub somewhere in Northern France (Gallic Shrug).

The remark about handles charges is sadly true for the French Post Office: they're just doing their job by delivering the package, no special handling involved. And what's more, they never give you an itemized invoice for whatever it is you're paying, so you don't even know what's customs and what's handling. At least it's a check addressed to La Poste...

La Poste used to be very good, but lately it's been a bit of a random turkey shoot: sometimes they get it right, and other times... I had two big boxes delivered to me about 2 years ago and supposedly they made two attempts to deliver it, but they never sent me a message, or left a slip in my mailbox, so by the time I woke up, the boxes had been shipped back to the States! Since then, I track my boxes from the States on the USPS site, which is a sad commentary on the decline of La Poste...

In other news, for years, I only had about 1 package in 100 charged customs fees; in the last few years, it's more like 1 out of 2. Can't really complain, since it was always supposed to be like that, but we had gotten used to being spoiled.

At least La Poste still has an international book rate, which is a great deal!

I also have some problems at the moment, slotcar-union.com has received my amount..however the website indicates "waiting for transfer" I do not receive any mail about a track and trace and do not respond to questions via mail or web server..
we are now 8 days further and France / Netherlands is not a problem in terms of shipping..should succeed within 3 days.
at the time of writing even the website is down???
