hi
my plan is to run slot-it cars and stock scaley motors so that i can use the scaley chips wich will be the mih re-flashed ones.

If i then fit slot-it lighting kit to these cars will i need to wire them with a resistor or will they wire up straight to the chip like the stock scaley led.s...

Hi Ade,

You going to use the C7006? And which SLOT.IT lighting kit are you planning on using?

As far as I know the output on the C7006 for the lights, if you planning on hooking them up to it, is 5V, so any LED's that run at 5v should work...or as RichG told me before, it's all about the forward voltage drop...I've been using these for a while without a resistor, just hooked up to the C7006 directly. They work fine, very bright. If I want to dim them a bit I use a 120R resistor most of the time...

Hope that helps a bit.

hi
yes planning on using the solder in saloon chip for this project.

As regards to the lighting kit i thought that as it was a universal kit it was designed around fitting all slot-it cars.

I must admit to being ignorant on these kit's as i have only seen them mentioned on here and not read up on them.

Hi Ade,
I once tried to fit 6 Slot.It cars with their lighting kits ........ I gave up. Often, I found that the lights did not have clear lenses or the ones that were fitted could not be drilled without leaving the LED poking into the front tyres/tires. I guess they could be done but you would need lots of time and patience and it wouldn't be easy.

Regards - Greg
