As a way of introducing ourselves on the slot car scene, we have decided that this Tuesday 15th Nov and next Tuesday 22nd Nov, there will be no entry fee, yes it's FREE, nothing to pay, zilch, nada, gratuit etc,etc.......

You are welcome to bring along your own cars and there will be cars available to use if you don't have any or don't want to run your own....

There will be no set format on 15th but the practice timer will be set to 3 minute sessions, we ask everyone to change at the end of each session to allow everyone a fair chance to have a go on the track...

The evening will pretty much consist of getting used to the track and "running it in" we may have some racing if there is time a little later, as long as everything is working...

The suggested cars are "Slot It Group C" in standard form as will be used at Graemes place on Sunday.....

We will open around 7.00 pm and there will be tea, coffee, soft drinks and sweets available...

On Tuesday 22nd we hope to be having a proper race night... There will be a ballot box on the 15th for suggestions to determine which class/classes we will run on the 22nd, depending on the turnout/time we will run either one or two classes of car

The address is Kilburn Auto Centre, 3-6 Exeter Parade, Exeter Rd, NW2 3UH (underneath Kilburn Jubilee line Station)

There is on site parking for around 12 cars and plenty of free parking in Exeter Rd....

Please be aware that the club is situated at the rear of my MOT bay, so please be careful when walking through the garage, thanks

Hope to see a good turn out..

Oh yes....... If by any chance anyone sees either Jenson Button or Lewis Hamilton in the area, please tell them that they are welcome to come in and have a play.......

Hi Lee

It will be good to see you and Phil.... I should think we will finish sometime around 10.30 but as it's not such a serious event, feel free to stay or leave when you feel like it....

See you on Tuesday

Ok... Let's start with Lee..... The lap times, well to be quite honest I haven't really timed any laps yet.... The lap timer is still being sorted out.... Having said that I reckon an 11 second lap would be pretty good as I have attempted to time myself with my iPhone, and managed 11.80, ok it's not very accurate but it gives you an idea...

Secondly, Matthew.... It is Ninco track, the running length is around 140 maybe 150 ft..... As far as controllers are concerned, as long as they have a 3 pin standard (I think it's a 2amp) plug it doesn't matter what you use on the first night... Having said that please don't bring something that might short out the track.....

And finally... Chip of FDSC, Don't worry, it hapens to us all.... It happened to me years ago.... Now where was I........

We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.....

Squid, Fishy and Ernie have made a fantastic effort tonight..... We finally called it a day at around 1.10 am..... But the track is looking really good, just a few bits to finish off now... Thanks a million lads, you have all been great.......

So here we go, I am a little nervous.....

It is now ready for the first trial and if I know slotters, it will be trial by ordeal.... I feel like the witch in Monty Python... Thankfully I weigh more than a duck....

The laptop i lent you is timed to self-destruct at 20.15

I am afraid we just can't have another Ninco track in England.

Seriously, good luck Ian, i know how much work goes into this.

BBBOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM................................................IT WORKEDDDDDddddddd..............EEEeeeuuggghhhhh...

Oooppss, actually it just covered us all in flour....phew... it was quite funny though... well done Winkle.....

Thanks Graeme, (yes this is the serious bit too) the laptop was brilliant, it may be old (aparently it is the only one left, Noah dropped the other over the side of the Ark) but it has done a great job..
Matt has spent the last 3 days trying to get the one that we have working..... He has been pulling his hair out trying, he has gone from Brian May to Harry Hill in just a few days....... Still no luck, if by any chance anyone has a really old PC that is working and running Windows 95 (BC?), I would be prepared to pay for it if you would like to sell it....Please contact me, I'm sure that we could do a deal.......

Thanks to everybody that turned up, it was great to see some of my old adversaries (and a couple of newer ones too) again.... Let's do it more often...

I was really happy that so many of you gave us some really positive feedback, I really hope that this bodes well for the future of our club, thanks again and especially to Lee who somehow managed to get home and put pictures on here before I even managed to turn the computer on................ I guess that I must be getting old.....

Brilliant Lee........... That means we should be seeing more (mmm, having said that, you are a bit too fast for me, I think you need to slow down for us old geezers) of you, don't forget to bring all your mates too...

Hi Graeme, I think that Lee must be using that bloody transporter to get around the track in 11.6 seconds too...

Congratulations Ian, a truly professional track.

All that hard work in planning and building over the last two years has been worth the effort and I would say one of the best tracks wood or plastic I driven on in this country.

I love the chambered corners and the track elevations and a nice long straight to compliment the rest of the track.

I would suggest if anyone who hasn't been or not intend to visit this track is missing out on a first class track and venue.

I'm going again next Tuesday to take some pictures and video, keep an eye on this tread for updates.

In short, a kick arse track, you must visit!

It didn't take that long to get home Lee's, well worth the trip.

I'll bring my camera next time.

Phil
