G'day all,
I had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new Slot.it GT40 Gulf and it arrived on Monday this week. As per usual I couldn't help myself but had to give it a run around the track, unboxed it and took the body off to true/oil grease etc and the first thing I noticed was that the front right hand tyre grub screw (for height adjustment) had been super glued in place because someone had made a mess of the grub screw hole during manufacturing. I'm not one who usually complains about these things but its not the first time I have recieved a 'Brand New' Slot.it car only to find it damaged. I purchased the Nissan R390 Calsonic earlier in the year and it already had one of the front wheel components broken. I take it the thing that we call quality control doesn't exist with these cars or I'm just one of the unluckiest people around (Actually I am, usually when I buy something brand new theres always a problem-(Nissan Entrails a lemon, fridge blew up,microwave didn't work, numerous broken bones, car accident etc). I just thought I'd post this problem as I know there are quite a few collectors here on the forum and it wouldn't look good if in the future you sold your new Slot.it GT40 to someone else for a tidy profit only for the person who bought the car from you to get stuck into you and say that you have used the car and repaired it with super glue. To say I was dissapointed is an understatement. I would take the car back to where I purchased it from but the airfare alone would probably buy me 10-15 more Slot.it cars. Although I am peed off I would like to say this this won't stop me purchasing more Slot.it's in the future. So much for a limited edition.
Cheers
Matt

The 25k motor was replaced a few years back. That nissan you got must have been some real old stock.
G'day,

Thanks for the respones to my questions and sorry about the late reply, had forgotten about the Gt40 as it is just sitting in its box waiting for a new chassis. Had received a reply from Maurizio a few weeks ago saying that he would contact an American Distributor to see if he could source me a chassis (probably easier contacting an Australian Distributor IMO). Also contacted PowerSlot Cars in the US where I purchased the car from, no response, so I would like to know where I can get a new chassis from myself as the Slot shops I frequent don't seem to have these in stock. Thanks in advance for any help. (oh and a chassis for my Nissan R390 which also turned up broken. Not bad, I've only purchased four slot.its this year and 2 were already broken, so to me a 50% strike rate, Hmm not that flash.
Thanks
Matt

Hi, It would appear that on the slot-it website, the picture of the chassis for this car has grub screws holding the cables in place, this is an old trick used by racers to resolve this problem, but as already mentioned, slot-it should have resolved this problem by now, come on guy's, get it sorted?

Yep, apparently its how Slot. Its are coming now due to lose eyelets.
Not very professional looking solution IMO, I would rather have the eyelets and add a bit of solder to ensure a snug fit, but it won't stop me buying them

The Gulf GT40 I got I couldn't be happier with, eyelets with solder added, she runs as sweet as a nut.

Thanks to Maurizio at Slot.it for sending me a new chassis for my GT40 Gulf and even a bigger thanks for also sending me a replacement chassis for my Nissan R390 GT1 which I didn't expect. Must say everything I read about Slot.it being great to deal with is definately true, answered my emails and any questions I asked and its good to see in this day and age that customer service is still alive and well(with Slot.it anyway). Now to get the car rebuilt and time for some serious laps.
Cheers
Matt
