So, I want to replace the rear of my GT-R with Slot It bits, only, I've spent a wee while looking at all the many-coloured bits they do on their website and am confused.

I'm going to buy a couple of axles (45mm and 48mm) but quite which hubs would fit and look the part, I don't know. The current HPI hubs appear to be about 8/9mm in width. I think I want PA24-MG for the hubs, will the PA42 Ferrari F40 inserts fit?

Any guidance gratefully received.

Hey Wankel, I missed this. I would have suggested ringing pendles as the slot.it bits are a nightmare to get right, and they really know their stuff. How did you get on? Was it a worthwhile investment?

Riko, the post didn't get much of a response and I let it drift. But I saw the Taisan liveried R32 on eBay recently, got all teary-eyed and started thinking again. So Flange's comment is appreciated and a little peruse of a well-known Lancashire-based website might be necessary.

But should I look to get some kinda trick chassis like an HRS to make a proper job of it, do you think?

Whoa! Flange! I see what you're trying to do there and I can only say, 'Get thee behind me, Satan!' There are two things fundamentally wrong with modern slots, as I see it: first up, the crazy bump 'n' grind of digital; and second up, the abomination, let me repeat that, the a-b-o-m-i-n-a-t-i-o-n of cars with alloy wheels and no inserts. Urgh! Ugly, ugly, ugly. Shaking my head in disbelief.

But thanks for the input.

Hey guys,

I wouldn't mind getting a couple of HPIs for club racing, and I heard a couple of months ago that they were going for 5 pounds at Modelzone! However, I have had no such luck finding them for this price.

Simply put (while we're on the subject): Where is the best place online to get HPI slot cars? (Am I allowed to ask this question?)

Thanks!

QUOTE ...5 spoke alloy wheels that look really good actually
.

See, I was going to say that in the world of 1:32, as far as I'm concerned, that's a contradiction in terms - alloy wheels, looking good. And that has been my experience to date. But before I typed, I thought I'd at least go check your claims and the Sloting Plus 'America' wheel, actually (as you say), doesn't look as Hot Wheels and Carlos Fandango as most alloy offerings. You almost have me convinced that they might look the part.

I clicked a good few links to find the jewels, though. And they do do some pretty awful shiny things. Mattel's Hot Wheels in 1:32. Urgh.
