Hi can anyone help please?

I'm not sure, being a newbie, what's the best glue? I ask because I'm used to using cement for polystyrene (hard, brittle plastic) on construction kits (aircraft, military vehicles) but the plastic parts on the Slot.it kit are a different plastic (waxy, oily, flexible PVC I think?) so I'd need a different adhesive wouldn't I? Unless superglue will do?

no gleu needed with white kits from slot-it , just use a old solder iron to put the parts in place.

If you want to use glue.
try superglue for the normal parts (non clear)
for clear parts use canopy glue .. formula 500, micro Krystal Clear or gs hypo cement.
Those 3 all dry clear and dont give off any fumes that will smoke/whiten your clear parts
