The SlotRallyGB Championship has been confirmed for its third year, 2012.

We have some new sponsors, new events and some minor changes to the class names, but everything else remains similar to 2011.

We welcome Scalextric Hornby, Slot Racer Magazine and Avant Slot to our list of sponsors along with regular supporters, MSC, SCX and Teamslot. SCX will also be the official timing sponsor in 2012 and will supply stage timing equipment.

We also welcome two new venues to the Championship, AEC (UK distributors of SCX and Kyosho) and Pendle Slot Racing.
Both will hold new events expanding the options available to competitors and spreading the fun of slot rallying to a wider geographical area in the UK.

With 8 rounds now available, rules will be amended so that your best 5 scores will count to final championship positions.

There will be a new limited edition car available only to championship entrants.
We are, once again, grateful to Teamslot for allowing us to produce a short run of only 50 Teasmslot Lancia Delta Integrale.
They will be red/white and feature the championship logo and events all tampo printed. We aim to be able to sell these for £41 each.

Classes will, broadly speaking, remain as 2011, but we will be changing the names of two of the classes to better reflect cars available;

Round 3; Manx Rally - 21st & 22nd April 2012
Round 4; Wales - 3rd June 2012
Round 5; Oxford - 8th July 2012
Round 6; Pendle - 5th August 2012
Round 7; Farnham - 23rd September 2012
Round 8; Wales - 4th November 2012

UK Slot Car Festival at HMC (Heritage Motor Centre) - Gaydon.
20th May 2012 - non championship event

Prizes and awards will be provided by our sponsors and sourced from other rally releated companies and individuals.

More information will be added over the next few months, but if you have not already come along to one of the rounds, why not pop along to either of the 2 remainig rounds in the 2011 championship; Farnham 25th September and Wye Valley Winter Stages in Nov.

Towards the end of 2011 (after the 2011 Championship) a seperate thread will be started accepting Championship entires. Each event will have it's own thread in the events section of the forum.

Sorry i have been away on holiday for a while.

A team Proxy entry would be fun - however proxy entries are not eligable for championship points (we changed the rules for the 2011 season following requests from competitors who lost points when proxies won points). Proxy entries still count in the individual rounds positions, but don't score champ points.

I'm kind of busy at the events so could not personally run your cars, but i hope someone will step up to your offer.

We're not looking for proxy drivers. After all, the Williams drivers are not proxy drivers for Frank Williams, are they? Rather, we would provide the cars and pay the entry fee in return for someone in the UK driving the cars in our livery.

Just confirmed the dates for the Manx Isle of Man event.

As 2011 this event will be a weekend held on the Saturday and Sunday at the superb Glen Helen Hotel (cheap rooms, great food)

Tentative schedule;
21/4/12 - afternoon - first 5 or 6 stages
early evening - "Night Stages"
evening - meal for entrants and families
22/4/12 - morning - final 5 or 6 stages
lunch-time snack/meal followed by presentation

With the event being later than this year there are more ferry options available.

Just wanted to make it clear that the Manx round of GB Slot Rally 2012 is scheduled for Saturday/Sunday 21st April and 22 April 2012, not 21st and 22nd December, which could be inferred from the original post No. 12...!

Good to hear from you.

I'm just waiting for a couple of final bits of the puzzle to fall into place and then all the details will be confirmed etc.

There are not actually entry forms as such - what i'm doing for 2012 is issuing Championship membership cards which can either be bought on the day or in advance. Entry into the individual events is covered on the Slotforum with separate topics for each round - these used to be in the clubs section on SF, but will now be in events.
