Hi,

Do you know when their next round is?

I've raced there before but not on their rally track, it looks good.

cheers,

Gareth.

Looks like a navigator would be essential for this stage.

How is the Chrono timer triggered ? Is it the standard magnetic switch?

Kind regards, Leo

Definitely, it is very complicated, especially for a newbie

No idea, I just drove

I'm guessing it wouldn't be magnetic as the cars don't have magnets, but on the other hand there isn't a light bridge either
Maybe there's a deadstrip I didn't notice

Hi,
The timing is done using the SCX Chrono unit - we usually do a 5 lap run followed by a 15 lap run. we have tried 20 and 25 laps but you just end up falling over

This unit was added to the track a couple of years ago and as a result we now use it a lot more.

Thanks SlotRacer,
Presumably the standard magnetic switch has been embedded in the track.
There has been a lot of discussion about alternative triggers (ideally optical sensor) but the only succesful one so far is to use a switch, similar to the SCX lap timer and Scalextric timer units.

Kind regards, Leo

Hi,
The reed switch from the SCX unit couldn't pick up all the cars we use.
Also since we run on a wooden track some of the club members have removed the magnets from the cars.
I also added the SCX starting ramp to the track.

Regards,

Andrew

Not seen that track/stage for a while - i recall we used it at the first SlotRallyGB event at Toyota many years ago - good to see it's still alive and in use.
