hi all

The next round of the Slot Tech Audi Challenge is fast approaching and it will be held at North Staffs Scalextric Racing Club on the 3rd October

North Staffs would like to know who will be attending this team event

Slot Tech Audi Challenge rules still apply (see jim brown (Slot-Tech) for details)

Food and drink will be available during the course of the day

Scones with an "e" are 40p and scones without the "e" (scons) are £1 (ha ha)

There will be no practice on Saturday 2nd October but the club doors will open around half 8 to 9 o'clock on Sunday morning if Dr Stickys out of bed

There are trophies up for grabs for 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams overall as well as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd junior teams

That's all for now, let me know who's comin'

Cheers Rob, got the email
My dad's driving, lovely cruse down in the Jag again
I'm not 17 til December, practising for Theory now.

Erm, team... havent a clue at the moment. Our regular 3rd driver is being blown about in Florida at the moment. Still need to build our Audi... (means taking my Porsche apart).

Looks like the Pre-Add team will be one of those to beat.
Not that the Oak-Cakes won't be just as fast...

Looking forward to it,

James

Sorry, one last question...

QUOTE don't forget if there's an adult your team you can not enter as a junior team

Why has this changed? Kinda blows my team out of the water (Pendle Juniors).
Two of us are still juniors and we've been running as a junior team all year so far.

Never mind, come what may - We'll be there (but not sure in what order, might have to draft some more people in)

All the Best,
James

I'll clarify that post of Baz' a little.....

At prior rounds of the Audi Challenge, Junior teams have been allowed to have one 'adult' member. I am not aware of this ruling having been changed for this round. However, this doesn't mean the rule *hasn't* been changed - just that I'm not aware of any change

If anyone's wondering.... I have no view, either for or against, the one adult in a junior team issue. There are *VERY* good arguments either way

Over the time that I have had anything to do with the Audi or Porsche Slot-Tech Challenges, I have had numerous wide ranging conversations with Jim of Slot-Tech. From these exchanges one major point of the rules comes across:

FUN!

The sole aim of the rules is to establish a basically 'level' playing field wherever possible. The best case scenario would be for there to be no rules at all... However, back in the real world......

So the best compromise is minimal rules interpreted to emphasise the FUN, rather than the minutiae. Consequently the rules for the Audi and Porsche challenges can be written in easily legible type on one side of a sheet of A4 paper

HI GUYS
oop's sorry if i have offended any body about the junior issue
i just assumed (mother of all cock up's) that if there is an adult within the team it could not be entered as a junior team.
may be i am wrong, i'm married so i usually am,
so this one for jim b to sort
either way every body welcome old and young

jimbo
i am going to wear shorts so i can enter as a junior what do think?
see you sunday

Hi Guys & rob junior (DR STICKY)
in past rounds of the event extra teams have been made up of spare drivers. if a team had 2 seniors and a junior then they would be considered a senior team, and vice/verse for 2 juniors and a senior. the entry fees are then adjusted accordingly. i am therefor entering a junior team consisting of myself, craig pringle and nathanial rigg!

Jim you are pushing your luck, if that team comes within 15 miles of stoke, just remember, there are many sharp corners on controlers, cars and other blunt objects, that can be disapear into parts of your body where the sun dont shine, so look out!!! mac p
