In this months (December

) Top Gear magagine, there is an interview with Damian Emery about his 45 foot slot track (boys - keep reading before you all rush out to buy it!!) He is asked "I presume a big track equals lots of cars. How many do you have" to which he replies "I'd rather not say exactly in case my wife is reading this" but goes on to admit over 500.

It made me smile that (like so many of you) he dare not admit to the other half how much money he spends / how addicted he is.

On that note - in Moped stylee - i pose the following question

Was Ferdinand Marcos a big slot car collector???? Imagine what that would've been like. Nah, I have to disagree unless you mean purely excess shopping for things one really doesn't need so many of? I do alot of excess shopping for other things as well. (Like the ten other directions I run.) So many toys, so little time and money!

I was impressed by the full page interview on the guy's track - quite good questions and not making the guy sound like a nutter! (well - no more so than we really are

)

The featured track is this one by the way - damian's track (is he a forum member?)

This issue is also a ferrari special with stuff on the F430, 575GTC and pasta

I don't have to justify my car purchases. Mainly because I buy very few.

But since I don't get carried away, my wife gives me free reign - she even let me skip normal household chores to build my F1 proxy car!

Or.... in other words... we avoid total obsession, cut each other some slack, and never end up in a fight about shoes and slot cars. Good grief.... I'm maturing!

It's no use asking Fergy Howmet. The only ones he wears are very broad and oval and have a criss-cross pattern of string or moose internals.

He mass produces them on his Unimat.

I was poking through the pics on the website mentioned & saw the 1:1 scale model kit. Bloody brilliant!

Anyhow - someone was saying that cars have to be bought in pairs? Too damn right they do! I hate having a car & nothing to run it against 'cause of the esthetics of the thing.. & my missus lets me get away with blue murder!
