Had some time over the past couple of days to try out some newer cars (for me) that I have not had a chance to fool with and here are some results:

Slot It red GT40, started at 6.424. Add some urethane tires and we're at 6.185. A bit of weight and more tire truing and now it's 6.062, even with my NSR cars.

Slot It Gulf, started at 6.465. Add the tires and some weight, 6.222. A bit more tuning and we're left with 6.073. These are great cars!

One more, Scaley Eagle. This was an absolute PITA to drive out of the box. I hate to admit that I didn't even bother timing it. Added the tires and it's 6.880. This car (and the Lotus) are a bit of a challenge to work on, but I removed the little electronic flotsam, sent the magnet packin', added some weight where the mag was and under the driver, and got it down to 6.033, a bit of a shock. This one went from terrible to amazing, although it was alot of work. I ended up milling out the driver's, uh, lower part to add some weight.

I'm working on the Lotus 49 now, not having much luck so far.

Thanks for the test. What kind of track, how big? Did you change the rearaxle and bushings? Pictures of the scaly?
Keep up the good work.

very nice track. Bet the turn where the cars are is a lot of fun, balancing the cars with a sligth drift.
Havent got the lotus up to full speed either, but mb slot eccentric bushing and lowered front helped a lot.

Thanks for the comments and the suggestion, I'll try those out. This is my first routed track and it's turned out to be lots of fun. Funny thing is that the lanes are exactly the same length, but the red lane is quite a bit easier to get around than the yellow lane.
