Time for some eye candy coz there is too much text and not enough colour recently

Something Old..

Old being the suitable word - anyone know anything about the motor/chassis?

Something New..

Dallara Nissan from SCX (S-6129)

From the Superfund World Series by Nissan events, the model is no great shakes and basic. The paint is flat in finish and I can not seem to find out if this is correct for the car shown.
A good entry level release at first glance.

Something Borrowed..

To test a routed track with...

Full details would be interesting for us all I think - 'Grah1' ?

Something New..

A Limited Edition in a fuller sense of the word as used by the Slot manufacturers these days; 1 of 1000.

The Scaley Collector Center 'Red Bull' Indy car (C2394), great car / cool price / excellent livery !

I think the reason for the Dallara's paint finish being flat is because it is self-coloured yellow plastic. Mind you that isn't much of an excuse - look at the Carrera Bentley. The body is moulded in metallic green plastic, but thanks to their clear finish it looks superb.

You've got a rather large expansion joint in your track! Look behind your Red Bull indy car in the second photo!

DON'T talk to me about expansion joints and shifting sodding track!

I get 50 more for every one I remove at the moment. Each time I work on the damn thing. It will pass but it is a sore point right now

Thanks for bothering to point it out though! - Ok. back to the pics

It is in fact the Strombecker two piece Brass chassis, and was probably one of the best of the Vintage Kit type Chassis available from the late 60s.

Ed at EJs Hobbies makes a very nice reproduction, with all the bits and pieces, and brackets to accept modern FK style motors.

Maybe not. I heard it is not limited in the USA. Still a very nice livery though and that's why I bought it, so danr the exclusivity and bring on the three abreast finishes.

Does this mean we are going to see limited releases per Country???

Free and in large quantity in on place but limited in another? How sodding stupid would that be???

It was nice to see a limited quantity I felt could actually be called limited, maybe I should know better by now ehh?

Ho Hum it IS a great looking car and will go well with the other three (I am ignoring the made up liveries)

Can anyone confirm this before I rant too much ? Sean? Mark?

I'll try and do a piece on last yrs proxy car once I get this yrs in the post to Chris Briggs but basicaly it was a parma international 32 modified to be flexible and fitted with a fox motor .As it was much lighter than any of the other cars its performance was awsome but some of the guys found it a touch to hard to drive still it won at Preston ,got second at Bolton and third at Pendle .But it is a very easy way to build a competitive car for the world proxy

The Dallara Red Bull Indy car was released as a Collector Centre Limited edition in the UK. The same cars are freely available in most other countries. The UK cars came with a gold sticker on the box saying Limited Edition of 1000 cars, but I don't know if this was the UK allocation or the worldwide production run. Maybe Adrian could help with this one ?

Don't forget we already had Scalextric cars limited to certain counties, allegedly. The plain white cars for the USA have been available in Europe from most Scalextric distributors and by direct order from Hornby. Even the Australian Holden and Falcon were available through Carson in Germany but not from Hornby in the UK. The Porsche GT3 was made in special versions for France and Switzerland last year, but found their way to most countries or at least dealers in most countries.

Who can know if Hornby's definition of Limited Edition means a small production run or limited to certain areas. They do have a history of giving out different information.

OOPS!

Sorry I didn't realize it was secret mate. I have to admit I thought maybe I should ask as I hit the enter button - sincere apologies.

However on a lighter note - change is good and this was last years!!
