Some of you folks may already know this in the states, but Radio Shack released a new line of 1/24 RC cars called XMods. The darn thing has all manner of add-ons which may be usable in slots:
Add-on headlight and breaklight kits $5.99 US
Tuner Fenders, hoods, wings, etc. for the tuner fans $14US
A 4-pack of 26K RPM motors for about $13 US (replace monster pinion)
Even a kit taking the chasis from 2 to 4WD
...Have not seen bodies separately yet, though.
