just wondering if anyone knew of any systems that could be used to measure the speed of slot cars? a mate of mine sed at school he had some stuff that was just 2 IR beams on metal 'hacksaw' shaped supports that gave a time readout the time it took to break them. something like this, or something that is chap and simplle and can be connected to a pc to do the job wud be good awell. simplest sollution is a timer that can be started and stopped at individual places by a slot car passing it (were planning a drag strip as a bit of fun).
