Having seen the real Ferrari 512M Sunoco race at LeMans when I was a lot younger, I am taken by the livery on Spirit's new release.

Anybody tried or have one of these cars? I've read where they need a lot of work to bring them up to a driveable standard.

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Regards,
Wayne

Mine came out of the box looking really pretty. Outside of that there isn't much else good to say.
IT took a lot of work to get it to make one lap! Wheels out of true, headlamp lenses loose in the body. 2 piece rims in the rear needed to be glued together. Basicly the whole car had to be disasembled and put back together correctly. Once that was done its a fair runner but a Fly 512s will kick its rear every time. Let me put it this way, I won't be buying another unless they do some major work on it.

Mine run very nice without magnets BUT - took alot of work to get them going, I posted this somewhere else on SF but can't find it right now.

Compared to the nice quality of the Lolas I was disappointed. The next release will make or break them as far as I go with Spirit.

Yep same problem everyone else has had. I would have had less gear noise if I made one out of wittlin a wooden gear. Imediatly changed to slotit gears, runs better , had alot of loose parts also, trued the tires and did a mag mod. They better up their quality control or they will not get anymore of my money. Like the saying goes beauty is only skin deep and thats about as far as it goes with this piece.

It sounds like this car could do with the "Tucker RS" treatment.

Or at the very least could somebody put together a parts upgrade kit that you can simply drop in to cut out all the faffing around, and at the same time make it go faster.

Hi Wayne,

I picked up both the Red and Blue Ferrari's. I put them in the same category as Fly Classics. I oiled the regular places, spaced and trued the tyres and glued the windscreen wiper back on and all was fine.
Had to do the same for all my Fly Classic Lola's, 908's Chevron's...etc.

Looking forward to the NEW yellow Ferrari.

Best Regards
