I'm a huge VW fan (like you'd never guess
) so I was really happy when this car came out, but it's handling has meant it's stayed in it's box most of the time, even after I'd de-motored it.
So as you may have seen on my Polo/205 T16 Hybrid thread, I had some time to indulge in some flights of fancy on the drive home from the Wye Valley rally yesterday...
I reckon this will be my PCS scratch build entry in June then:
It was a fairly simple conversion;
I narrowed the PCS and cut off the rear mounting lip to fit inside the body, however I still had to cut a section out of the rear valence.
I then cut the rear body posts off, shortened them and hot glued them to the interior tray. The front body post was then cut off and discarded and a new one made from a plastic lolly stick hot glued in place. This was a mistake though, as the bonnet has very slightly warped with the heat!
(That'll teach me to just wait till the next day when I'll have some epoxy, but I was on a roll...most of my cars take months to finish, and I've got two done today).
I originally used the Golf's axles and wheels, but while testing I found that I wanted to try some different tyres that wouldn't fit on the Golf's rims.
Personally I like the way it looks on the 205's wheels, so they're staying on.
Right, what can I get done tomorrow?
Regards, Stu
