My son and I finally have a track layout suitable for using SSDC (even more so after Santa brings my son a Pit Lane changer for Christmas) and all it's features. I downloaded the software on Sunday and have been playing with it to get the parameters set to our liking. I have two questions:

1. When there is a track call the leaderboard shows the blinking yellow lights. Is there a way to make it display the information that is shown during the race instead? I would like to look at my fuel gauge, position and lap time while the race is paused as that is much easier than trying to read that information while the car is moving.

2. Is there a way to have the audible alerts for needing fuel, leading the race, etc. say the drivers name with the alert? For example: Instead of "You are leading the race." it would say "Sean, you are leading the race."

hi
1. Is on the to do list by Andy,it has been mentioned by another member but at the mo im afraid it's yellow lights only.

2.yes you can configure different sounds and phrases in the sound preferences settings, monotone microsoft sam does the talking and i have found it better to set it to driver number rather than driver name, but that's only a personal choice.

Tapping in some names can result in some funny results, try ari vatanen for example.

Not tried the Venerable Ari yet, but I fell about with the shortened version of Rodney Slicker. Think I may just try some of those names off that old email that did the rounds, like "Mikolig Jesvartehd" and "Aheed Dizjob", to see how they come out.
Puerile I know, but a good laugh for the boxing day family racing!

I figured it out. When you set the sound to 'Speech' it says the drivers name. The voice is just very hard to hear when there are 4 cars running around.

I do have a new question though. I have it set up so that everyone ends on the same lap and power is off at race end. About 5-10 seconds after the power is off, it comes back on and the pace cars start going around again. Is there a way to change that while still keeping the' power off at race end' option?

hi
there is another bug that happens at race end where the winning car gets a powerboost as it crosses the start/finish line.

Andy is aware of these and no doubt they will be fixed in the next release/update.

I figured that out last night (fuel tank size and burn rate). He is heavy on the throttle (which is why he is probably faster) so his pit stop time helps me stay close. Once we have the pit lane installed I'll really be able to tweak things to get an even race. I'm really looking forward to it.

Go to Tools, Options and pick the tab that shows the sounds. On the drop down list pick 'Speech' and it will say the driver name before the message. This is only an option on a couple of the sounds. I found it very difficult to hear the name and switched it back.

On the driver screen right under where you put in the drivers name, there is a space for a name that gets spoken. There is also a little button to check how the name is pronounced. It uses that name.
