Hi folks,

I had a scenario come up in testing SSDC in anger for the first time last night.

Is it possible to have different settings, for example time before track calls initiated, for different events?
I want to have a proper quali event set up, quickly followed by the resultant race. I'd like a massively long delay before calls in the quali (so I don't burn someones hot lap by going off myself) and then back to a shorter one for the actual race.
I would then simply duplicate each event pairing or reload them as a pair, as the evenings racing progressed.

thanks for looking.

hi
im not sure if track calls work when in qualy mode, but they can be adjusted for duration when in race mode.

Over long delay when using pace cars as well can result in carnage as the pacers ram thr de-slotted car.

You can also set track call to run the cars at reduced power instead of just stopping..

And sorry for the delay in posting the pitlane sections, they will definitely go off this saturday for you.

No worries Ade, not in a desperate rush! I get that annoying thing where family and work get in the way of my obsession (sorry, "hobby").

Yes, was dabbling with the various settings of track calls - it was getting late and we had done quite a bit of testing (including 3 transits at a time - great laugh).

Will try again tonight if I get the opportunity and pick this up then. Cheers.

This sounds very odd, my findings so far about track calls in quali.

Analogue
Scenario 1:

Set quali up for two cars. only use one for the first part of this test.
Tonk around happily, de-slot - nothing happens. Able to recommence ok.
Take 1st car off track, add 2nd - same results.

Scenario 2:
Two cars on the track, one de-slots. Track call.
Clear track call, do not reuse de-slotted car, no further track calls.

Scenario 3:

Same as scenario 2, but use de-slotted car after clearing track call, next de-slot of either car activates track call.

Conclusions for analogue:
1) Single car on track, de-slots do not cause track call.
2) If two cars move and one de-slots, track call. If it moves again (even for an inch) either car can then cause a track call.

I had de-slots set up as "no activity for 2 seconds" for the purpose of this test.

I'm off up the pool then the pub, so may not get around to digital test tonight ;o)
