Hi I have been running SSDC v5.1.1. for some time now and today I up loaded v5.4.1. ( just to keep up to date ). Now I cant switch to free practice. I reloaded just to make sure, still the same, also went back to v 5.1.1 and all was as it should be. Free practice running well.

When I am in v 5.4.1 and i press the free practice icon the red light on my C7042 flashs but dosent stay lit.
all the other features seem to be running properly?
I can just go back to v 5.1.1 but would like to get to the botom of this prob??

ps I only have firmware 0.84 on my C7042. This seemed to run ok when SSDC was on version 5.1.1. Will it fix issue if i update firmware on C7042.

This is a bit tricky for me as I have no internet in my slot car shed and will have to dismantle my track to bring the C7042 to my internet for download.Or can I copy a CD of the download and take it to my slot car shed???

The red LED on the powerbase shouldn't be on when SSDC is running. The flas of the red LED simply means that SSDC has reset the race timer on the powerbase.
So when you are in free practice, are you saying that there are no laps times? or are you just worried about the LED?

And yes, you can download the firmware update utility and the latest firmware onto a CD and install. Just the same as you do with SSDC I guess.

Ok... I think I've got it sorted.
When I was using v5.1.1 things werent working properly, but because I didnt know any better I assumed that free practice was no timing no fuel ...etc.
But now thanks to your answers "The Red Light Shouldnt be on when SSDC is Running " I have seen that the new v 5.4.1 is working well....
whooops
operator error... back to racing, thanks guys
