my motto is:if it went together it can be taken apart but if you only want to remove gunk then just spray it with isoprop or electrical contact cleaner
iso is a more gentle version out of the 2.If you opt for a switch cleaner test on a spare bit of track first.I have used it on some of my track parts to good effect,mine is made my maplin,other brands may leave a white stain on the track.
If that fails it is possible to remove the flippers from the track with care,all the electrical stuff is just pressed or screwed into housings...
