Being a big fan of the Scalextric "Do it your self" kits from the early sixties I - by coincidence - on the Bay of e came across a mint boxed kit called no. 9199-195 Strombecker Utility Building.

After winning and receiving the kit I can see it is very similar to the mentioned Scalextric kits. This makes me wonder.

How many different Utility kits did Strombecker realese, and what buildings did they represent? Are there any source out there on the web to tell me the whole story of these Strombecker kits?

By the way. Anytime I win a Scalextric "Do it your self" kit in mint boxed condition on eBay, I DO build it and place it on my circuit. Great joy!

The last I knew there are still some New Old Stock Riggen versions of the pit building available from a distributor here in the US. I have several of the pit buildings and the grandstands. I just need a much larger layout to use them on.

Holger,
Go to your Riggen question of a few days ago. Go to post 10, and click on the link. That is probably the place mmmoose1 is referring too. They have at least one pit building. And take a look at my post there, about figures.

Now the hunt is on for Strombecker 9399 Grandstand Kit.
