Everyone knows of the 1/32 scale McKee RTR made by Strombecker from 1966 with at least 3 different chassis. But a 1/24 scale version was never produced.

Indeed there WERE prototypes and a plan to produce the cars in the larger scale, and at least one has survived. During a recent visit to Bob McKee, he showed me this rare little beast, made from fiberglass, shown here next to its little 1/32 scale brother:







The chassis is the standard "series II" (1966) with provision for the cast zinc drop arm.

The car is unique as far as I know, unless someone else out there has one of these hand-built prototypes. It was of course never issued, despite being announced in a few magazines.
