Oooh! Good subject! On our track they run with Slot-it 25k motors, and the stock mag is replaced with the Slot-it #1 neo-mag. Great handling and power out of the turns. Don't forget the Indy-grips to complete the package. These cars run about 4.7 sec on the P.C.o.D. and stay on quite well with a bit of rear-end slide on a couple of turns at speed. Even the Professor was impressed with their handling. Very intense in side-by-side brawling.

Cheers!

PS: you could go overboard and fit the SC-07 "satan" motor but it's not for the meek!

if you really want to make the NASCAR go and you are not worried about rules then, this is what I have done....

Go for the Slot-it 29k motor like you are doing.....

then dump the interior, lot of weight you dont need..... replace the interior with a vac interior try from Parma....

Now dump the window glass.... and replace it with some thin clear plastic, cut and glue into place........

this should really make it go and handle much better.....

how much would they be? as for satan motored loal parts arrived today, witha 8 tooth pinion it was running only 4 sec slower on plastic track than an scaley indy with mag it ran a 15 sec lap on the massive track we had today so dats good sloght wheelhop when it hits full speed, but a small amout of weight will sort that

They should work fine..... the main thing is cutting down on the weight of the interior..... lotof mass to haul around there.....

We have always had the most fun with the in-line NASCARs cars by running them totally stock. Totally stock the performance is very equal and it provides for very intense racing fun. It also always the newcomer to show up prepared to join in the fun immediately. The only improvement I wanted on these cars is a deeper guide.

When these were widely available it was easy for a novice to obtain one of these cars, but they are now getting rather hard to find so we have switched to Carrera vintage stock cars. These cars cost much less and are now providing us with most of our racing fun.

The Scxalextric nascars run very well if you loosen the body screws, glue the rear axle bearingd to the chassis, cut the slats under the motor away with a craft knife and glue the motor in place.

Did you not think of going for a progessive magnet ? , alot quicker down the straights and strength on the bend when you need it.

I have converted a normal magnet to a progessive using a file - just as good - plus it was stronger than the progessive magnets on sale.
