Some shots from Suzuka last night - not the real one, our track in Egg
- and sorry for the poor quality - it's been done with the mobile-phone.
Actually I'm using the new Carrera-buildings there - -excellent quality and setting up the Garage with the VIP-center above needs app. 10 Minutes for every building.
Painting, detailling and palcing all the little people in there will be done later - when we know, which shaoe the buildings will have without limiting the view to the track.

More pictures will follow...

...yes, seems like they have to fight hard

But actually I've just 16 pits for the teams - and compared to the size of the track it's still looking small

Have to discuss this with Swiss when he's back from UK, maybe we place all 10 F1-teams there - with a memorial sign for the Jag-team?

But Jonny, it's your turn to visit - don't forget that - and bring the Phoenix-bunch with you

Thomas, how long is that 16-stall building? Or, more precisely, how wide is each garage?
Just curious, as I hope to have about 8 feet (2.4m) for my pit area.

McLaren, digital won't be needed next year - there won't be enough cars!

Well, that's our excuse to go back to Egg well and truly sorted!

QUOTE "Well, you see dear, since our last visit they have installed a whole row of pit garages (boxes) and we simply have to go and check out the racing sight lines."

Those look great Thomas, although you are probably the only man with a track big enough to do them justice. Do the re-fuelling hoses "plug into" the pit walls?

More pics please!

Thomas raises a very good point that is often missed by track designers with a desire for buildings.

It's only too easy to obscure the drivers' view!
I sometimes race on a track where the four driver stations are split, with two each at opposite sides, giving the drivers more room to flail around etc. Though the track owner and everyone else thought it was a good idea at the time, unfortunately, two of the drivers could no longer see past the pit buildings on the main high speed straight, while two had a perfect view. This naturally led to a LOT of grumbling. The only way out was to switch driver stations back to four in a line as previously.

Just one more very important factor to consider when designing tracks.

That's a pretty good pic for a mobile phone!

Hey there Thomas!

Looks great

When you take more pictures please be sure to include some pictures of that grandstand in the background of the first picture. Thomas please let us know as much as you can about all the buildings. Heights, widths, cost and a mini review maybe?

I agree with Scott btw, we have to go back now!

Cheers,

Julian.

...ok folks, more bad mobile-phone pictures

Views are actually a little restricted, have to restructure some of teh buildings and 2 remove 4 big grandstands

Will do better pictures with the Niken when I've the time for that - maybe end of December...

Dimensions are avialable on the Carrera-hp AFIK... will take some time for a mini-review...

BTW Jim which other Ninco Classic would you suggest I get to race with the my Porsche?
I got Classic fever now.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

We would never forgive you if you didn't come too

Classic fever is very contagious, Edo, and incurable too!

We race them a lot over here and the Porsche is the least used. Not only is it the smallest (but probably nearest to scale) wheel plan but it has a lot of front axle travel and tips a lot. Limiting the travel helps some. My favourite is the Ferrari 166, just oil it and run it and run it and run it and it will just get smoother and smooooother and smoooooooother! The Healey and Cobra are more powerful, but that doesn't seem to help them any, I'm fairly sure Swisses one had an NC1 motor fitted. So get one of each and have a lot of fun!

Cheers,

Jim

Edo,

The Jaguar is nice too; long and stable. Also good for the odd bit of nerfing!

As Jim says, whatever one you get you won't be dissapointed although I think they are all best ftted with a NC1.

Thomas,

Any reason why some pit boxes seem to have white bases and some black? Are they all the same, just dfferent colours?

Thanks Jim and Scott
I think I will get the Jag and the Ferrari (and how about the Maserati?). Then I will work on the Porsche to make it stable and competitive. (Maybe I put in a TSRF chassis with a killer rocket SCX motor that Graham rewound for me: how is that for an "old emotional newbie top tuner would be"?

Cheers
