Is it possible to find Le Mans Gulf racers from these decades:
60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000's?

I got the Ford GT40 from the 60's, the Porsche 917K from the 70's, the Mclaren from the 90's and the Audi R8 from the 2000's.
All I need now is a car from the 80's in a Gulf livery that has raced Le Mans.

It would be swell to team up with five Gulf racers at our Danish Le Mans Series and of course wearing the Gulf t-shirt!

Unfortunately, there weren't any, René. The last time the "real" Gulf team raced at Le Mans was in 1975, with two Cosworth-powered Mirage GR8s. It was the team's only race of the season… and they finished first (Ickx & Bell) and third (Schuppan & Jaussaud).

At the end of 1975 Gulf withdrew its sponsorship from racing and Gulf Research Racing (which was known as the John Wyer Automotive Gulf team until 1971) was sold to Grand Touring Cars (GTC) owned by Harley Cluxton.

GTC continued to enter Le Mans with "Mirage" chassis but they weren't sponsored by Gulf. GTC finished second at Le Mans in 1976 with a Mirage GR8 Ford, second in 1977 with a GR8 Renault, tenth in 1978 with a M9 Renault, and DNF in 1979 with a M10 Ford. The next time that a "Mirage" was entered for Le Mans was 1982, with the M12 Ford for the Andretti's (DQ), but it was actually a Tiga!

In 1994, Gulf sponsored a Kremer CK8 Spyder and in 1995, 1996 and 1997 they sponsored the GTC McLaren F1 GTR cars. Gulf-sponsored Audi R8 cars were run by Johansson Racing in 2001.

Here are some pictures of a Fly Joest Porsche that Rob Soutar converted into the Gulf Porsche 962 K8 driven by Bell, Donovan and Lassig in the 1994 Le Mans 24-Hour:-

Kind regards
