In no particular order:

That everyone really has digested the new rules and there are no issues at 'Edmo'.

That Dave Rouse does a full Nascar season, and is in the hunt for the title.

That people like, but not limited to, Jim and Jon do full seasons. If the average attendance drops (which law of averages says it must one year, despite climbing for 7/8 years now), so long as the ''core'' continues to grow, then that would be OK. Plus, new guys bring fresh enthusiasm and new thinking. Along with the added competition, thats all good.

That 'Team Whorton' build some cars for Paul, and that we see him move up the grid.

That Tony S changes his mind. That it stays changed.

That we get a big battle in Mod between Paul H (assuming Sunday was not a one off), John F and a few others. Having been in a nail-bitting championship showdown, I would love to see a few more.

That I avoid being relegated to Main Grade a year from now, but that we see a massive scrap for main Grade which is decided in the last 10 seconds of the last A final of the season.

That Andy W and David continue battling in Nascar. If Andy W can eradicate his penchant for poor opening laps in Finals then there is no reason the title won't go to the wire again. Assuming either of them do that class of course.

That people noticed Martin's little basket on Sunday and copy the idea next season. If they go from racing straight to a marshal post with basket for company so much the better.

That the LMP class 'happens' at least twice, also that Mod takes place all 10/11 rounds.

That Martin wins a lot less A finals. I think he will take that in the spirit in which it is intended

That the scary lap time Craig produced in one lane on Sunday gets to be a common occurrence for him.

That I have a pain free transition to Pro class. If only this last one is a bust I will be one happy chappy...

Pro class? Are you joining Pro-Mod Deane? Good luck if you are! I liked yours and a couple I've copied.

My ambitions and hopes are:-

Read the rules before Edmo and ask questions before I arrive

Make a decision as to which class I want to run in in the afternoon and be happy and competitive in it

Win an afternoon A Final

Qualify out-right for an F1 A Final and not have to stress out trying to win a B Final everytime. I think this is basically become as consistent in qualifying as I can be in finals.

Be in the mix for a title even if I ultimately don't win it

Be quicker than I was this season and drive more consistently

Re-learn how to use Movie-Maker and start filming more races at home, WHO and EAHORC

That Tony S changes his mind

That Paul W can convert his pace from the Nascar D Final into better results and hopefully not fall off as often. The new controller definitely helped on Sunday I noticed.

Be as supportive, welcoming and helpful to newcomers as everyone was to me this year.

That is a good list. I especially like the last one.

It would be handy to have 2 more people doing videos, to take the pressure off the two Andy's. I think it is the editing that takes the time.

Paul has shown flashes of pace at every round, so the gene pool runs deep. Some better cars and some more experience, who knows...

I was made to feel really welcome from the moment I walked through the door in Yelling which is testament to what a great crowd there is at EAHORC.

I was trying to help Paul with tyres at Gaydon to see if his grip levels would improve. He'll be on the pace this season but like you say, Andy could show him a few bits to help improve the cars.

In terms of videos, I've had this idea of using multiple cameras to try and tell the story of a whole race start to finish. It would take ages to edit so it wouldn't be an every round thing to do but how cool would it be to watch the cars leave the start line, come through turns one and two with a different camera and so on round the lap? It would require several people to man the cameras but if I provided everyone with an SD card prior to the race and collected them back at the end and went off to edit the film, we could have a three minute real time race video.

I personally dont like the back up car rule I think you should be aball to have spare parts like pic up springs and shoes and some way of clening shoes but not a whole car I think it would make racing more real and more interesting as if one of the top runners was to have a problem it could let Some one els take the win but that is what I think any way how about you lot ?

I was always under the impression that you couldn't or shouldn't have a spare car but some people think differently and like to take a variety of cars to the grid with them, swapping if they fall off or don't feel competitive with their starting car.

Do I think you should be able to? I don't know. I do like your idea of running repairs but in a three minute race is that really practical?

Anyway spare cars are now in the rules in the event of damage or mechanical failure so I may as well prepare additional cars and use them should I have a breakage.

My hope for 2011/12 is to win the EAHORC cup.

My realistic hopes for 2011/12 are:

To enjoy my Sunday days out and enjoy the racing.

To fill the WHO-mobile(s) each month - and to have Robin back. The journeys are not the same without him.

For WHO Racing to be fighting for the Club Cup right up to the final race of the season.

To help put together a cracking end-of-season meeting at the Heene.

To be able to focus on decent prep for both pro-mod and F1 so my F1 qualifying is more like the first two and last two meets of 2010/11.

To have axles on my pro-mod that don't get bent so easily (thanks for the tip Jon - new ones are on their way).

To have the funkiest pit tray on the planet (I am working on it).

To discover my lucky t-shirt and never wash it again (can anyone remember what I was wearing when I won that Nascar final at Edmo in Feb 2010?).

Having spare cars to hand has always been an HO thing, but now it is going to be regulated as we continue to try and up the number of heats per hour being completed without things feeling rushed.

Of all the 'wishes' on here the funniest one so far is Jim's last one

Keep 'em coming guys...

Strange, last year julian started a thread where we could tell the world our dreams and scarily all mine came true!!!!

This time I dare not be so bold as things have changed.but I would really really like it if FLBT could retain our club title, it can be done but it will be a real challenge. So I guess my next wish is to get big numbers of clubmates along and get us all in the big points.

Kind of related to that is to get myself putting the effort into car prep that Clive does and get him driving like I do.

A long shot given Martins (much deserved) form is to keep up my record.of winning one open wheel round a season and related to that to strengthen the spirit of cooperation and support within the unofficial constructors alliance, I'm calling us the days in club. Those who were there will know why as we take the fight to the Team Martech. Don't worrry Deane you are one of us even if you weren't there.

Next up to increase the number of owner drivers among the FLBT regulars we are now upto 5 and two more occasionals, ten in total would be really cool.

Finally keep spreading the word and help people enjoy this scale as much as I do.

BTW there is no lesser fan of the spare car during a heat and car sharing thing as I come from the parc firme world of scalex and BSCRA and have strong veiws on the effect it has on pro mod costs but you just have to look at the brilliant last four meetings to know that we can trust Deane to make the right decision taking into account things the rest of us had not even thought of.

QUOTE (montoya1 @ 22 Jun 2011, 11:20) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>That Tony S changes his mind. That it stays changed.

At the moment, I dont think so.

Just prior to the last national at Worthing, I visited the cemetaries where my father and father in law are buried, it being Fathers Day on the Sunday, and took a few moments to reflect on my own mortality, which left me in a very melancholly state.

Followed by a long day, with a poor result at Worthing, with an horendous drive home, that took me 2 days to recover from, tells me that it is not happening for me participating in regular national racing. So with the view to fullfilling my needs, I have to say farewell to the national racing scene and hello to the future, hoping that I find my 'happy place', whatever it is and holds for me.
You may see me from time to time but certainly not on a regular basis.

SCHORC will not be affected, as this part of HO racing I find most enjoyable, with all the fun we have on club night.

No, not really for that reason, more for just in case you have a body or chassis irepairable malfunction during the race, a substitute can be speedily made available, quite a common pratice in HO!

Hi Tony

Wish you best in whatever you do. Hope the club continues to go from strength to strength and we still see you in the adjacent pitch at the Swindon swapmeet.

In fact knocking something on the head when it becomes more effort than reward can be quite liberating, my kids mum appears to be having a great time
