It might be interesting if we contribute news and track pictures from our respective Countries. Personally, I would very much like to know what's going on in Germany, and what type of federation (if any) exists

For a start, this is the Ayrton Senna Club track in Soragna (SE of Milan, about one hour out)

Although not Italy's largest track, it's generally considered the premier racing venue - not least because of the friendliness and enthusiasm of the members (we are at the edge of Ferrarishire)

They also organized the Italian Championship last December, but as in Spain they got to use the Sports Hall and erected the customary mirror image Ninco tracks - so that nobody had home track advantage

Anybody stopping by is sure to be welcomed and plied with prosciutto and wine - just don't disgrace yourself by having magnets !

GSR magazine magazine has had some interesting articles covering 1/32nd club racing in South Africa and Brazil. Hopefully they will continue to cover racing around the world, perhaps you could make a contribution on clubs in Italy.

Hi Xlot,

In germany, Slotracing is very club-biased, too (you know, germany are worldchampions in having clubs for even the most useless crap).

The bigger tracks, I would estimate, are 65% carrera, 25% routed and a bit Ninco.

in Homeracing it's also carrera in front, with Racy (Artin) taking second playe and Ninco going third (but scalex sport is catching up quick(ly? never know...)

Here are some typical german tracks. Generally, I would say, we teutons aren't too much into decorating our circuits...

Nice tracks, Biberle - and I wouldn't call them under-decorated at all - most tracks in Italy are strictly functional

Now, as Thomas was mentioning, do you have a lot of inter-club events and a national championship ? Are there standard car classes?

In Italy, it's Fly Classic / Ninco DTM / LMP
(and YES, Wankel, strictly non magnetic - although there are urban legends of people hiding a thin magnet under the lead ballast !)
Considering how factious we tend to be, it's nearly a miracle - although of course people couldn't quite agree, so DTM is divided into NC1 and NC2, and we have LMP Light (23k) and LMP Open (29k). Funny thing is that then at the Championship most raced in ALL categories !

Hi Beppe,

no, it's not - it refers to an old childrens rhyme about a "race driver Biberle".

But i've been living in munich for a couple of years and seen a lot of extremely drunk, only-used-to-whine italians. So I'm not sursprised at all that reference popped into your head.

I think there are a lot of classes in the german club scene, Fly, Fly classics, DTM, a lot of 1:24, different LeMans series, Nascar etc. (but actually not much rallying).
