Well, just (far and away) what the title implies - and one that opens up exciting possibilities to SF and its members

But, I gleaned it once more on slotadictos - since I'd rather not become a Mopedian gadfly, why doesn't someone from Spain step forward and talk about it ?

I'll give you a clue : a short while ago we were mentioning Colin Chapman's brilliant but often marginally engineered designs - one example not mentioned was his application of wings directly on the wheel struts ( on the 49 ??), and the wing's incidence would increase on braking - very effective, but also extremely fragile, it resulted in.........

Russell, you have a 2 hour head start

You've got me on this one, Beppe.

I'm guessing that it slot racing related and has something to do with "wings".

Are you referring to the 2004 IMCA Nats for Group 7 "wing" cars, which has a prize of $ 10,000 for 1st place and $ 5,000 for a lap of under 1.5 seconds on the Blue King track?

Kind regards

Nope - I told you it'll be the biggest event in 2004 !! (that's the Cric Crac routed track in Igualada with the as-yet-not-in-operation Davic)

Come on, WHERE did (I believe both) Lotus 49 lose the wing, thereby inaugurating the still standing rule of fixed appendages ?

Graham Hill and Jochen Rindt both had massive accidents during the 1969 Spanish GP held on the Montjuich Park street circuit in Barcelona...

Both accidents were caused by wing failure and resulted in massive damage to their cars. Both men were extremely lucky to survive without major injury. Rindt had taken pole in his Lotus and was leading when his wing collapsed and sent him ploughing into the barrier. His team-mate Hill had already suffered a similar fate on lap eight.

QUOTE Montjuich Park (or Montjuic to keep the Catalans happy)

Good : now, what was Montjuic Park originally built for ? (it might even be the building in the back of the picture)

The MotoGP is on the 31st of October in Valencia, so it can't be that. Scalextric announced their MotoGP products at an overseas dealer's convention at this event last year.

Hornby won't be at the Salon Del Hobby in Barcelona; they are only doing the toy fairs in Hong Kong (done), London, Nurenberg (5th-10th February) and New York (15th - 18th February 2004).

I give up...

Way off the wall but my records show a Leather Goods, shoes trade show on NOV 6-8.

And last year they held (a little more relevant) Auto-Retro (Classic cars and bikes) but this was early Dec.

Now you have me curious to?

Come on Beppe spil the beans!

OK, enough teasing - it'll be :

THE MOTHER OF ALL 24h RACES !!!

Now, if it were just that, I'd point it out in case somebody wants to enter a SF team (I suspect available "slots" will evaporate quickly)

But I'm speculating it could be MORE :
- such a large event cannot be limited to a single brand
- therefore the rules must allow for a degree of freedom (as a minimum, mix-and-match like in Alcorcon)

AND

where's the largest talent pool of scratch builders, who are also used to sharing information and accept proxy racing ???

There would be a base track (Ninco, of course), cars would be sent and evaluated there, drivers would have to get experience by taking part say to Verbano or Brussels - and the others wouldn't know what hit them !!

How's that ?

Well, if it were to be held on a Ninco digital track, I would be excited!

And if we got to wear high-heeled leather boots I'd be ecstatic...

Where can we find the details, please?

Kind regards

Russell
