PCS 19in wheels, Mark. The front tyres have a slightly lower profile than the rears, which is reasonably authentic.

When driving for Alfa, Varzi lit a cigarette in the pits at the 1934 French GP, and smoked it during a pit stop. He continued smoking as he tore off down the pitlane to rejoin the race.

Varzi was, of course, also addicted to morphine, which can't have been much use when driving a fast GP car.

This chap also looks as though he might be addicted to something. Whatever it is has turned him the colour of toothpaste. Soon to be changed to primer grey, as it looks as though the weather might remain warm enough for painting bits and pieces alfresco including the bodyshell. Coming along slowly.

I've often fancied an Auto-Union in 1:24-scale, but have never seen a bodyshell. 'Twould make a rather magnificent slot car.

That a black Auto Union crossed your mind at all is flabbergasting. Why not go hippie purple and green? Good heavens, man. Pull yourself together. Next thing will be stripes, I am sure of it.

And on the subject of 1/24.....there is a file available for a D type, although it says low poly so it may not be worth the $15 they are asking.
