Well, it looks like the end of the export version of the Mas-slot magazine. I am not sure of the reasons, but all I can say is that it is a sad occasion.

I don't know whether I gave it the kiss of death after subscribing toward the end of last year or not, but the same happened a few short years ago to a magazine call "Slot Car Monthly" which was run here in the UK. That publication ceased after I subscribed to that too.

It may be the fact that I carry the back luck with me from supporting
Man City

Mo, I hate to one-up you on this, but I've got a better claim to fame: magazines tend to disappear after I publish articles in them! This includes the aforementioned Slot Car Monthly, Car Model from the US (my first and only column in May 74 and it disappeared with July issue I think), Australian Slot Car Review, Motor Sport Collectibles... hmmm, maybe I shouldn't be bragging about this!

Mas Slot seemed pretty good, but judging from the first issue the English still needed a bit of tuning up - not sure they were receptive to that however, since they had some English-speaking writers/translators, and thought they were pretty good!

Make way for Euro-English!

dg, you don't support Man City by any chance do you

By the way I forgot to mention that my only claim to fame with the "Slot Car Monthly" magazine was to win a Ninco Porsche 356 in green. I think the question was something like "why are Ninco cars great" in no more than 20 words. At least I had my money's worth I suppose.

Mo,
In fact i'm a long-time Chicago Cubs fan, and "we" haven't won the world series since 1908 - before even I was born!

i'm also kind of partial to the French rugby and soccer teams, which may have more of a chance these days...

Mas-slot issue #6 English version is now long over due. There are lots of rumours circulating that no future issues will be produced in English.
We have contacted Mas and recieved the following reply........................
QUOTE I want said you that we are negotiating with an editorial and English
distribuidora to make the magazine at world level. The project
continues, but it will take time. I request you have patience.
Thank you.

It sounds to me like they are looking for another party to handle everything from translation and production to worldwide distribution. If so, it will be a tough sell to a second party unless the projected (substantiated) volume is high enough.

So much chopping and changing this year already. I heard this week that Slot It is to change, has changed, UK distributor from Monarch Lines to AGB? If that is right it doesn`t leave Collette with very much?
