After racing several modified RTR cars in saloon class, I've always wished NSR would produce a car that would fit the bill.

I know they do the clio, but its still not on the pace of a mosler, so after a bit of rumaging through my parts box I discovered the spirit 406 isn't that far off the wheelbase.
Also the front post lines up perfectly with the mosler chassis - body mount number taken care of already!

I'll let the pictures do the talking, but it hasn't been quite as straight forward as I thought, but nothing a little plastic card, glue and a huge dollop of dremel cant sort out!

More to come, paint for one! but a bit more fettling first!

I am not sure all the work is worth it as the Spirit can be tuned to go very well, you could just use the wider body car to save having to add the flares and then set up the pod. My wide bodies Pug is a liitle faster than my Mosler chassied Calibra.

I think even using the wider body would still need the dremel as the arches have been ground more upwards to get the car as low as possible.
Also, the shell was sitting in my spares box so this is a conversion on the cheap!
The only thing I've had to buy so far was the motor mount and some araldite!

I do run a couple of these standard(ish) and on our track they dont even get near an nsr mosler, but I agree, these are quick when set up.

Hopefully I'll get some paint on buy the weekend!

Great idea....wish I was there tomorrow to see 'that face'!!! Not in Germany as expected, but Liverpool instead. Will be taking a car to play with in the hotel room

Very impressed with with the performance and its nice and easy to drive too.

I'll add some better pics soon.

Not bad for a parts box racer.
Spec;
NSR mosler chassis, sidewinder
Spirit 406 body
25k scaleauto motor yellow can
slot-it wheels
nsr ultra rears
ninco pro-race guide without the spring

Laps just under half a second slower than my NSR mosler
