Would this have looked out of place in the late 80's? I don't think so...

It's from '77 and yet looks surprisingly like the famous Jordan that MS was destined to drive...

Here's my favourite cars:

Funny how they look great and were driven by two of the worlds greatest drivers...

PS. Sorry for the supersize last picture...

Check out this site:

http://www.f1-legend.com/

Go to Histoire. Then Voitures. In the menu on the left hand side.

Pick a manufacturer and then pick any of their cars!

It's a good resource.

Oh and the second driver is Mario Andretti, the only driver to compete a race in the 77.

McLaren

PS. The next two drivers are Senna and a little plastic model of Gilles.

D'oh!

Yep, you're correct John...

A closer inspection of my resources (not the full set because I'm not at home), reveals that original info was complete rubbish. Sorry!

They are just tubes of metal.

Taxi!

EDIT: So you don't like the 77 then Ecurie?

Type in "F1 Car" to Google and here's what comes up. Luckily enough, they were what I was looking for anyway.

Well, I was looking for an F1 '87, but this looks similar but newer. I'm no good with Ferrari dating, so can anyone help me out here?

The ever classic shape and livery of the 1977 Renault RS01 Turbo. Not just a fast car, but an innovation which created a revolution in F1 car design. Seen here being driven by Allen McNish at the Goodwood FOS in 2003

Oh and this Brabham turned up which, although it has a livery which is uglier than sin, has quiet a nice shape about it. Can anyone identify it?

PS. Sorry for the big pic.

Before anyone else gets there...

Well first you gotta take it out for a nice meal...

No, I find beauty in technology. Therefore I appreciate the later cars more than the earlier cars.

An engine with four wheels and a driver bolted to it isn't exactly rocket surgery...

Dick, I think it is more of the case that:

"If it wins, it's beautifull. If it loses, it's ugly"

Was with every car that you can think of...

Russell, was there another car built later on (90's) which had a mirror like that in the middle?

I seem to remember Jos Verstappen having to persuade the FIA that he could see around it, but them still not allowing it...? Or am I dreaming again?
