McLaren: thank you for the information and the link...lot´s fo info.

John: great that you could sort out who the driver was in McLarens last picture, Gunnar Nillson..hmmm..died one year after ronnie was killed at Monza, talk about bad luck..had they lived then i´m certain that Ronnie would have won the championchip..at least once. He was the fastest driver at that time..though a little bit ruff at the edges. Gunnar is a bit more diffucult to make a qualifed guess about..anyway..two persons that I recond was well liked.

Sorry if i got of the topic a bit.

Would be fun if more of you could post some pictures of cars that you find most beautful or intersting.

( oops sorry missed the 2 latest post´s, to slow in my typing

Type in "F1 Car" to Google and here's what comes up. Luckily enough, they were what I was looking for anyway.

Well, I was looking for an F1 '87, but this looks similar but newer. I'm no good with Ferrari dating, so can anyone help me out here?

The ever classic shape and livery of the 1977 Renault RS01 Turbo. Not just a fast car, but an innovation which created a revolution in F1 car design. Seen here being driven by Allen McNish at the Goodwood FOS in 2003

Oh and this Brabham turned up which, although it has a livery which is uglier than sin, has quiet a nice shape about it. Can anyone identify it?

Mclaren

PS. Sorry for the big pic.

Hello there McLaren

Well the car on your last picture is a (Brabham BMW BT52) Year:1983 and was driven by Nelson Piquet.
When it comes to the Ferrari i really have no idea.
Last but not least....big pictures are nice..more that meets the eye...oops being lame again

Sorry.. I can't agree with the post 72 stuff. I do love the look of the JPS car.. but these slightly older cars will always get my vote for the most beautiful:

The year? 1967

Mmmnnnnn...Larsson and McLaren, don't those black jobs look like roadkill duck-billed platypuses? (Is there one or two S's in that?).
No, I find beauty in technology. Therefore I appreciate the later cars more than the earlier cars.

An engine with four wheels and a driver bolted to it isn't exactly rocket surgery...

I second that McLaren

And Screwneck....the Lotus 78 is known as the "Black Beauty" and not known as the "roadkill duck-billed platypuses". Just wanted to let you know.

QUOTE EDIT: So you don't like the 77 then Ecurie?

To me, they are all practically indistinguishable rolling billboards - but then I prefer Diana Rigg to Madonna!

indistinguishable rolling billboards ?? well then...what´s distinguishable bout a tube of metal
ohh...my mistake...it´s....round i guess.

You poor, poor, sad, deprived youth. What is the world coming to?
Anyone got a nice picture of Diana they can post to help McLaren out?
It would do me a power of good too....
I love the pre-wing cars! My vote for the best looking F1 of all time...

has to be the the AAR Eagle Westlake.

Ultimatecarpage.com has some pretty good shots of F1 cars from the 1950's through the current crop. Be prepared to wade through pop-ups and "congratulations you're a winner" screens!

This would not be an email from me without the obligatory reference to the P34/2 - the most gorgeous F1 car on the planet. Ever. You can take your Eagle Weslakes and stuff them... no, there are lots of nice looking F1 cars over the 50-odd years of the championship, but my favourite is:

Mind you, that doesn't mean it sounded the best.... I still think the BRM supercharged 1500cc V16 wail is the best - and I've only heard it up to 7/8000rpm, my dad heard it on full chat around Aintree (11000 rpm, 700bhp, on tyres narrower than my 'bikes rear tyre!)

That was interesting a six wheeler just entered the "contest"...this will be great.
And welcome Tim bissell

QUOTE WTF is Diana Rigg?

I'll have to admit that Ms. Rigg is well before my time and I had no clue who she was. However, here she is and if I'm not mistaken she starred in the New Avengers or something like that. I live in the States and I remember it used to come on late nights when I was a kid.
