Just watching the 3rd race of this years INDY CAR series ( shame there is not as many Ovals this year )

I was wondering if any manufacture has any plans to make them ?

QUOTE Oh yes!
They must be the ugliest cars Dallara have ever made.
The sooner they allow the teams to use their own aero kits the better in my view.
Cheers.
Mick.
eaagh, see what you mean. I thought the latest F1 cars were bad enough!

I live here in N.A. and this is the first I've seen of them. Tells you what kind of coverage it gets. I agree with Julian, they are just as ugly as today's F1, but they do have their own unique ugliness.

Re Coverage

Everyrace is LIVE on SKY this year again in the UK

They look OK its just something different again as we have a digital oval it's nice to race cars that run on the OVALS

How about Carrera Classic Nascars, they handle quite nicely on analogue tracks and are distinctly different feeling to modern Nascars.

Also Brooklands was an oval.

Given the underwhelming reception to other American racing series' by the greater slot community, don't hold your breath, especially in the current economic condition.
The Racer/Sideways Daytona Protoypes are some of the best racing you can have at an affordable price & they have been universally bashed by the slot racing community. NASCAR is the most popular series on American TV & their cars continually undersell mfr's expectations. The SCX NASCARs are being blown out @ $20 & $25 on ebay & $30 by retailers. I don't even like NASCAR but I am getting 4 so I can set up an IROC series!
The IRL cars from Scalextric didn't sell well & as a sidenote the A1GP cars were even worse (I like them, & they're Dallaras!)
Many of us here in the States would love to see more DP's, liveries of GT's that are in ALMS, but we know its not likely.

So far we run

Scalex NASCARS as a club class

SCX NASCARS as own class

American Muscle own class

At the moment we run on a 2/3 lane digital left turn oval

In my collection I have the Daytona Prototypes

Also the Scalextric INDY cars

Also the Scalextric A1 cars

Looks like there are 1 or 2 of us that like these cars

Yeah, I don't see any problem with them. They're different, and clearly there are some people who don't like change. I'm not a fan of F1 in general, but I can enjoy a good race no matter what the cars are. To me, these are just another advancement in racing, whether it's for safety or speed, it's all good. I honestly don't get what the problem is. I think they look pretty cool. Sometimes I wonder if some people LIKE to see race drivers die in horrible accidents, so long as they're doing it in a car like the one they saw as a kid.
