A small question while looking at other things...

This flipper, isn't it polarized by contact with the rail it's rested on?
Ie the left rail when going right and the right rail when going left (relatively speaking).

That was the original idea, but it doesn't work that well...

Ok.
What I don't get is how the flipper can be polarized from the far side...
...as explained in the third picture of flipper movement.

And my question is still, how can the far side keep contact with the flipper?
