Lovely photos. I can't get enough of 60s F1s. I've got through my share of those MRRC chassis, too. Betta/Classic has some lovely fibreglass shells that just slip over it- my favourite is a '68 'spaghetti exhaust' Ferrari. Mine has a Slot-it V12, and a Fly magnet positioned in the way you suggest, and it's a rocket. It looks great with those gorgeous Fly gold Ferrari wheels, too! But some of the other shells are just too slim and shallow to get a standard Mabuchi or Cheetah motor in. I'm looking for ideas for alternative power sources! There is also a Matchbox Surtees kit, which has been sitting on my shelf for years, just taunting me. It looks great, but I can't come up with a way of getting a chassis under it in a realistic way. My other dream car would be a scale Lotus 25- I got an old Supershells Lotus 33, and it's pretty nice, but they took some liberties with the shape to make enough room inside. We must be able to do better these days!
I throw down the gauntlet all of you out there- Let's see massed grids of Coopers, Lotussss, Ferraris, BRMs, Eagles, Lolas.... I need to go and lie down now.
