The three year itch!!!!

After having my last track for three years I decided on totally starting again.
For me slot cars are more about model making than the racing. I enjoy a few Sunday laps but very rarely have a race night.
My old track was a mixture of sport and classic and included the old classic pit lane, LeMann start and Goodwood Chicane.

My new track is much simpler and will eventually focus more on the scenary.
Its also designed to fold up as I have an old car and may need the space to do work on her over the winter.
Here are a few shots of the early stages.

Table folded up.

First nearly completed section

So far I have completed just about an 1/8th of the track.

Cheers Geoff

Cabb77,

Do you know what, I tried that "air dry clay" and didn't think much of it, but having seen your results I think it was probably my modelling skills that must have been at fault. I recent built a cottage similar to your pub (not yet shown on the forum). However there is one of these new discount craft shops opened up not far from where I work, I think I may be making a visit, then revisiting my cottage.
love the wheel barrow too

Well OK then, I've posted it here

I'll let you know how I get on with the clay as and when...

Cabb77,
Been out and bought some clay (Air Dry) now I want to mould it to an existing wall,

would you:

a, try to mould it round and shape it while still soft.

b, shape it flat let it go hard then fix it into place.

any other ideas not wanting to take over your thread

OK, I have done a "test" section tonight, and it's in place, and I'm quite pleased with it
Thanks Don, trust Embs
Anyway it's stuck in place now lets see what it's like when I add more
best I leave Cabb77 some room to post in his own thread, sorry I never meant to to hijack the topic
But thank you for being so helpful.

looking great and it's that wheelbarrow again, I can see there's going to be a clay shortage soon

Well, it's certainly original, looks great. Just thinking about it I've never seen a blacksmiths on the side of the track before
Like the hot rod too
Removed my cottage from the side of my track today, not sure if it will go back or... I'll build a new one out of clay

The lights show that window work up really well, that's pretty darn accurate
I'm in the gradual process of fitting lights in all my buildings, but I must admit to being a bit of a skinflint I am using a set of Christmas LED's bought from Wilkos for well next to nowt, just after Christmas in the sales…

What a great sight to see I missed these pictures today as I was supposed to be working
but it really looks great and nice to catch up in the evening browsing through all the posts, everything I would like to have said has already been said. I'm just wondering what's coming up next
this could quite easily be some of the villages near me! Cabb77 do you intend to continue to create a small village, or will it include some more contemporary buildings as well? I'm on the band wagon too it'll be great to see them set around your track.

It's bleep!

you need to take a look at Troels work you'll love it he also has a facebook page which he updates everyday. Now I know its trains but its fantastic, I have to check in everyday just to see what he's been upto.
Like his work I'm enjoying your build there is something really calming and satisfying about the modelling game almost as a sideline away from slotcars

Keep it up, the band wagon can roll on on slowly
so long you keep posting the results....

He is a proper artist! That's how he finds the time
It is the best I've ever seen some of his photos look like they are 1:1 images, that said he is dealing with a much smaller scale than us. Our is MUCH harder to do

Cabb77,
superb it's all coming together wonderfully, I can see a space there just waiting for a great big Royal Oak, near the red tractor at the back. Have I said before I love that beach buggy think it's great.

I really like the way you're adding the detail.
