Just wondering what the CHORC guys will be running?

Mainly SRT's I suspect

Maybe the occasional SG+
And the LL

Well my offerings are...

My plan is to run LL all year but that depends if they are competitive.
The first one is the only Group C style body available for LL
The second is a single seater that only fits the M chassis so I doubt that will keep up with the SRT's, may have to resort to an SRT myself for that one.
For the formula Libra I may run the truck again, not very aerodynamic but great to watch go around
Not sure what the last quarter is but I wouldn't be surprised to see Nascars.

QUOTE (montoya1 @ 2 Jan 2012, 16:56) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I think the M open wheeler lines up OK with the T chassis, is there some other reason it does not fit?

Depth

QUOTE How strict are the 'Group C' rules since that yellow jobbie is a can-am?

If memory serves me correct I think last year there were other cars other than Group C, even can-ams

QUOTE Are you allowed to fit other makes of bodies?

*BODIES:
In principal overall width 34mm although we know some stock bodies are
MARGINALLY wider - e.g. Tomy GT40's, some Tyco Nascars - and will not be banned
No lowering or lightening.
No vac-form bodies.
Hard plastic or resin bodies that fit using the original chassis manufacturers body mounts.
I.E. clip on. (NO Velcro, double sided tape, Blutak pin mounts etc. No internal body mods)
All must have windows represented. I.E. not body colour
Where drivers are visible on open cars, they must be detailed.
With the exception of wing mirrors and the 'winglet' spoilers on 917's all originally
supplied body parts must be attached - front and rear bumpers, separate window glass and
headlights, spoilers, roof racks!, etc.
Rear spoilers can be flexibly mounted.
Front spoilers on F1 cars are preferred and can be reinforced (or replaced) with sheet
plastic if the originals are lost. However, they can be left off once damaged.*

Is that clear?
It's got me baffled too, doesn't say if you can use bodies from other manufacturers!
Don't even get the bit about the fastening, starts by saying clip on then says velcro, double sided etc.

QUOTE (montoya1 @ 2 Jan 2012, 17:12) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Depth, gotcha. Maybe the Life-Like F1 will fit the T chassis? Do you have one? It looks a bit like a Williams FW07 in terms of shape.

It is a LL F1, from the M chassis, as far as I know they haven't made one for the T

QUOTE (montoya1 @ 2 Jan 2012, 17:12) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Libre would the Rokar 240Z be allowed? It is from the Amrac/Rokar/LL family line, which is why it is a direct fit.

I think so, as would the Porsche, but I like the truck

I think a LL/Tyco truck challange would be good, LL using the M chassis to square things up though

QUOTE (montoya1 @ 2 Jan 2012, 17:50) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Update:

I have three open wheel bodies, that fit the T chassis direct, but all have missing wings.

Since you can rubber mount them, it seems it would be worth me looking for them. Happy to do so, just say the word.

Front or back wings?
Missing or you have them but not attached?

How about these LL's, first two are T chassis and the second two M and all available with very cheap shipping from Lucky Bobs

I like the 3 but not sure black is a good colour for racing

QUOTE (montoya1 @ 2 Jan 2012, 19:57) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Are you allowed to fabriate wings, or use something off another chassis?

I'm guessing you mean fabricate

Another point where the rules aren't entirely clear. It would be my guess that there wouldn't be a problem if it looked like the original

QUOTE (Gareth @ 3 Jan 2012, 12:53) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I've got one of these as well. It turned up last month as a freebie with the yellow Can-am car. The rear wing has broken off but it was included for gluing back on which is nice. I can see why it broke off, the mounting point is tiny. I much prefer the LL-M Formula car even it looks a bit squashed!

Is it looking for a good home up North

QUOTE (montoya1 @ 3 Jan 2012, 15:37) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I'd be a bit hacked off to find the LL T gets banned later in the year, as I suspect it will,

I don't think it will be banned later in the year, however if it consistently too quick (and there's no guarantee of that anyway) then I suspect a lot of people won't want to race against it next year. I personally believe a good box stock LL T will always be better than a box stock SRT, however people at CHORC don't seam to be comfortable running LL and if I'm the only one I can see it be voted against next year, maybe not, but why would they keep a car that only one person wants to run if it's speed is upsetting everyone else as they can't get them to work...only time will tell.

QUOTE (montoya1 @ 3 Jan 2012, 15:37) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>or my bodies get disallowed because they are strickly speaking not Life-Likes or some such nonsense,

Now then, Rokar is to LL as Aurora is to Tomy so I can't see any reason why the body would be banned if Aurora bodies can be run on SRT's etc.

I've plenty of old tyres lying around, including some very soft 1/32 scale

I don't know yet, may not even be possible, I'm sure I'll work something out
