Hi Guys,
Post questions and answers here regarding the controller.

TIP No 1:
Do not have 2 controllers operating on the same channel at once. This causes data collisions resulting in stuttering and non performabce of cars including delay etc. Of course on competition day simply employ a PIN to make your channel safe.

TIP No 2. Pay careful attention to polarity when installing batteries. Otherwise the board will heat up, (wont damage controller) and discharge batteries in minutes.

Tip No 3:Do niot use superglue anywhere on the controller for any reason. It causes the plastic to go white as the glues gas emits its vapour.

TIP No 4:
Remove the protective film on the LCD. Its there to protect during transit.

Hi Guys,
If recurving controller do not use the config program on the pc as it has a glitch, 100% comes up as 0% so when you open the controller to 100% the car will go to 0 PWM. John said irs got something to do with the new sensitivity program and it will be updated soon.
S1-S9 will be fully configurable from the PC also.

Rick,

I have experienced the following problems with the controller PC setup program :

1) Driver name is correctly send from PC to Controller and appears in Menu/Driver but the Driver name does not appear on the Homepage of the controller instead of "Scorpius".

2) Setting the curve from the controller PC setup program,
- when setting a min to 10%/setting the curve/sending the curve works fine.
- setting the max to 50%/setting the curve works fine but when sending the curve to the controller, no change in the curve on the controller !

Regards,

Didier

1)That is because that is on the latest controller program on the web.

2)DO NOT set the controller curve from the PC as stated in post #2 until a patch is issued!

The controller recurving is not designed for setting max. Use kiddies (learner) mode (here the throttle curves are not designed for learner mode).

Controller casing screws

....are sometimes hard to get started on the nut. The nut is behind the sticker. We realised about 25% through the production that you get slightly better bite when the nut has it 'flattest' side against the casing. You can turn the nut over to get better bite by using a hair dryer so to soften up sticker, lift sticker then reverse nut. Apply a fraction of heat to sticker and rub down with a clean cloth. Done. The difference is less than 1/64" but seems to make all the difference in some circumstances.

Hi Saleen,
I need to make a 15A continuous as 7A is not quite enough grunt for heavy magnet and some 1/24 motors. Otherwise the prototype is going well. Very smooth.
I tested today against a standard Parma and was getting 6.8, 6.9 seconds with Scorpius and 7.4- 7.5 sec a lap with a standard Parma. Track was 27 m analogue track.

Is there a new version of the controller software? My controller always says "Scorpius" on the main screen, even after updating the name. I don't seem to have it and don't see it in any emails. Is there a file repository where we can download all the latest versions of the files and documents from? Maybe the docs could be shared using Google Docs?

edit: Nevermind, found the latest in my downloads folder...

Hi Hooch,
Great you found it.

The latest version as of 15th July is version 6.0 (found in the menu) with driver name and PEARL in the menu for those not sure.
Latest car decoder is version 4.0, very important.
