Hey guys, just wondering if any of you fine gents across the pond have one of these fine resin slot cars.

Believe it or not, I actually prefer this kit to the RTR car that Racer did a few years ago.

I would love to see some pics of your build, or of your unfinished kit if you got one.

Don't be shy, lets see'em if you got'em Boys!

Hi Gordo,

Sadly I don't have the spyder one, but I was able to put a full Fly Classic interior in it (a Porsche 908 one, I guess). I also used the chassis of a Fly Classic Ferrari 512.
Here are a few pictures of the WIP :

And 2 more picts of the finished car :

Hi Gordo

Here's my syder. There was a pile of them on Ebay a few months ago, just bare bodies with nothing to complete them. This one has head and tail lights by Scala 43 with chopped-down Racer front headlight covers, a gearbox from a Proto Slot Alfa 33, cockpit interior from a 1/43 Mebetoys Ferrari 330P4 (!), scratch-built roll bar from brass tube ... the list goes on! It's on a Fly 512S chassis and is modeled on the Rodriguez-Piper car from Spa 1000km 1969.

I agree with you - the MMK model is spot-on. I've got a very tired coupe also, awaiting a rebuild.

Best wishes

Andy

That is absolutely beautiful Andy!

By looking at the photos I can see that you have done some amazingly clean work.

I know my cars always look better in person than they do in photos, and yours looks like 10 out of 10 in the photos, so I can only imagine how good it looks in person!

Thanks for the pics!

Hey if anyone knows where I might find one of these kits, either assembled, or unassembled, I would really appreciate it if you could shoot me a PM and let me know where I might start looking.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Check in with Vincent at MMK he might still have some bare shells in his 'bargain' box otherwise Phil Smith and Derek Cooper are probably worth a try...

Hi Anthony

I'm not 100% certain but I think the seat belts came from an old 1/43 resin kit - I have another life in Dinky Toy World! Either way, it was a one-off, with photo-etched clasps and cute woven fabric belts. Here's a pic of it during construction.

Cheers

Yeh!!! I was able to source a mint, unassembled one of these kits yesterday.

Thanks for your responses gents.

Andy I sent you a PM with a question about the headlight lenses, please check your mail box when you have a minute.

Cheers

Gordo!

I got one of these from ebay as well, must be the same seller Andy got it from because mine was also missing a lot of parts.

Now that I have seen Andy's beautiful creation I am ashamed to put pictures here from my work based on my very limited modeling skills. Anyway it's not ready yet, it's currently on the unfinished projects shelf

I use a Racer 250lm chassis so I could put in a slot it motor mount. It fit after you sand both sides a bit and drill new holes for the body mount.

Hmmmm - strangely enough I went to garage and dug out my 2 kits and noticed that the headlight lenses were missing on the open 312 - thought maybe I had lost them - but seems like it just could be an MMK issue

Andy - again great build

Valie - nice idea but my fingers cant deal with that kind of small detail - nor can my eyes
Great job on how you did it though!
