Nice one Russell - I built one which is metalic green (sort of Jaguar FI colour) with the cat transfers on the side and 1/24 scale Martini stripes from the top of the front wings along to the doors - it looks striking. I hav`nt yet laquered it mainly because I`m not sure what to use, I realise that this must be very carefully - I don`t want to ruin it at this stage. Any advice would be welcome. Cheers - Phil Barry.

Sorry Jeff, it has already been sold!

Many thanks to all who enquired.

Phil, I always clear coat my cars with Future liquid floor wax. It can be thinned with water and easily sprayed, and doesn't react with any of the paints that I've used (I mainly use Tamiya acrylic paint or Halfords laquers), nor with any of the decals I've used. It dries to a hard, gloss finish and doesn't "yellow". You should be able to buy Future at Tesco's or Ace Hardware.

Kind regards

Russell

I'll second Russell's comments on Klear, (Future in the USA), it gives a really good finish and is very tough. I've used it on all types of paint and Decals, including Bruce Patterson's, DMC and my own and it hasn't harmed any of them.

I apply it with a fairly thick brush in heavy layers as it likes to find it's own level, also don't leave the top off the bottle when not in use as it seems to loose some of it's effectiveness if exposed to the air for too long.

Not sure where you are based Phil, but in the UK this product is available from Sainsbury's Supermarkets.

Regards

Alan
