one lane on my track isn't working, even on the piece that the had throttle is plugged into, it doesn't matter which piece that is. throttle and car work fine on the other lane. I've checked that there is nothing shorting the track any ideas
what track system do you have?
i have three thoughts:
1) its broken
2) if its scaly sport, the switch for 1 or 2 power supplies is in the wrong position
3) if its carrera, one of the lane power plugs is not in propperly
not used classic power piece, but you could look underneath the track to make sure none of the wires to the rails have come loose. But it might be something inside that has blown up.
Have you tried removing the power straight from the layout and just trying power to it separately? Although you've checked for short circuits, I have experienced a single strand from a braid shorting a lane and which was not noticed on first inspection of the track because the strand is so fine.
Or
Do you have power boost connectors fitted? One connection may be reversed polarity.
Or
As its classic track do you have a PowerBase which is attached to the straight. These can be opened from beneath by removing the crosshead screws from the lower plate. Once removed you can checked for disconnected wires.
Or
Are the throttles plugged into the underside of the classic track? One of the rails may be slightly distorted so the plug isn't making contact. Maybe try plugging the throttle into another straight.
I have one of those electricity detectors that you use before drilling into a wall.
I find them well handy as you can trace upto the point you stop getting power
so you will instantly find out if the power base is kicking anything out.
