Hi,

First post, please be gentle!!

Been looking for a CHEAP lap counting system.....looked up Trakmate.

Any one used this before or can recommend a different set up?.

No worries! Trakmate is superb and runs on anything that runs DOS(ALL the way back). One doesn't need a Windows Pentium to count laps and times. Kind of refreshing to see something written in DOS in the modern age!
Very elegant and accurate to thousandths. I run with a dead-slot but it will also run with lights, too. Saving stats and importing them into spreadsheets is also easy.
Cheers!

PS, I run it with a 1992 486 machine, BIG POWER!!

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I need it for a two lane demo type track using Scalextric Classic Track set up.

I have emailed the guy in America and awaiting a reply. I assume as I have not got a com port on my Dell laptop I can use a USB to COM connector without any problems?.

Regards
