I'm looking forward to this one. Apparently the 1/24th scale version is about to be released and work on the 1/32 scale mould is completed, for distribution in February 2004. The pictures of the resin body casting.

The TSRF24 and TSRF32 Courage-Peugeot C60 have been licensed by Pescarolo-Sport and two versions will be issued, the 2002 Le Mans car in silver and green and the 2003 season car in green and blue, and will come as either a basic kit, pre-decorated kit or fully-decorated RTR.

Kind regards,

Russell

There is a third feasible livery : the one used during the FIA Sportcars championship races.

The body looks great. Topslot and Vanquish have announced that car as well. Could you be bothered to buy a resin body of a car that is available in RTR form ?

My experience (or rather my dealer's one) tells me that once a RTR car is available, bodies don't find any buyer anymore. Past experiences : Topslot's BMW V12LMR and Toyota GTone.

Is this a TSRF resin 1/24 body that they are going to sell? Sure hope so because I want one for sure. Any other LMP's (in resin) down the road???

QUOTE The body is high-impact resin, but a vac-formed version is already in the works. The wing side-plates are metal and form the bottom of the car. The full cockpit is detailed and they come with a proper driver (meaning not athe usual Beanie-Baby trying to embrace an invisible large pillow). Availability of the painted bodies and unpainted kits is sometimes in December for the 1/24 scale and February for the 1/32 scale...

Decals will be supplied separately for the vac-formed bodies as needed.

We have now received all the parts, and will start organizing the 1/24 scale kits and re-pack in retail packaging within the next couple of weeks.

The decal sheet is huge as decals cover nearly all the car in the 2003 version. It will be a game of patience for anyone to place all the decals on the car, but good painters could actually mask and PAINT the blue and silver areas instead of using the decals. Microscale decal softener must be used for helping the decals to conform to the curves. Once the decals are well dried, it is recommended to seal them with a polyurethane clear coat.
While the body requires virtually no prep because of its good finish straight from the mold, the metal/resin wing assembly is a bit delicate and will require patience. The wing must be painted before final assembly.
The etched metal BBS wheel spokes must be painted black then epoxied in place inside the wheels. They feature assembly bolts and centerlock detail.
This car will be more of a display model than an effective slot car because of its weight, similar to that of a Carrera body, but lots of the weight can be taken from the inside as the body is quite thick in places.
Because of its high production costs, it will NOT be sold by the TSRF as the retail price would be but excessive because of retailer discount.
It will be only available through Electric Dreams as a retail-only item.
The vac-formed versions will be available through standard TSRF retailers.
There will be only 150 pre-painted kits and 250 standard kits available.
Once we figure how much everything costs, we will establish the actual retail pricing.

Are we talking a huge $$$ amount????

QUOTE (TSRF @ 14 Dec 2003, 10:33 PM)10 millions of Dinars.

Really, I am not sure yet, because the actual cost is quite high, and this is not going to be a money-maker...

What if you were to sell a kit with whatever materials are needed to make the body?

"If it's not a money maker then why do it? "

Well, let see. I am an old guy, retired comfortably from a fairly successful business. I can either go live in St Petersburg and play boules, or I can do things I like, such as showing to the "Big Uns" that some small-time fellow can out-design them with 1/1000th of the money.
I can also do things just because i like to do it, regardless of the money aspect.
But all the above is actually plain BS: the Courage bodies WERE supposed to be a money maker, but the Euro gained 40% over the Dollar in the meantime, killing THIS cash cow.
So what was supposed to cost me about $60.00 then is now costing me $90.00!
So what can I do? Only one thing, sell at no profit.

So these things are going to exist in 3 versions:

1/ un-finished body kit with resin-cast body, wing, dashboard, steering wheel, under tray diffusers, side mirrors, on-board fire estinguisher, 2-piece driver plus helmet visor pattern, vac-formed cockpit, etched metal parts including wing plates, gas caps, decals and body-mounting brass inserts and screws for direct mounting on TSRF24 chassis. These may also be mounted on many other chassis including Momo, White Point, Plafit or scratchbuilt...

2/ Same as above but with finished and painted body, brass inserts installed.

3/ Same but mounted on a TSRF24 chassis with etched metal BBS wheel inserts.

I am still waiting for the boxes and the final cost calculations and they will be ready to ship.

Mr. Pea

Philippe,
remember, you've a standing order for this car! But due to import duties I've to add some more stuff to this order - they charge 26 bucks just for handling - VAT is 6.5%.
Please add 2 chassis 1/32 and 1 chassis 1/24 - execution like last order - to the body - and send 2 bodies - one painted and one kit please.
I NEED THIS CAR!!!!

...Philippe, I've tried the chassis - excellent! And therefore I need more of them
Image

I can recommend the TSRF-1/24 chassis for every scratchbuilder! The only thing to take care about - there is VERY little clearance below!

#24 ·
Yes, the clearance is only 1/16" or 1.5" in 1/1 scale for the 1/24 car, and 2" for the 1/32 scale. It is patterned after the clearance of modern race cars when in full flight, I.E. with down force applied. It also folows the general racing rules of pro-racing until these guys went onto a near-zero clearance...

The down side is that when used on Carrera banking, the front end of the steel pan will drag and must be trimmed. Also it requires a slight 'blip" over the Carrera bridge.

Unfortunately we had to make choices, as an all-around compromise would have disappointed the segment of hobbyists we were trying to reach.
