Interesting project. Is the wall/barrier far enough away from the slot to allow some free slide before the rear quarter of a car rides the barrier?

Every time I look at the shape I see a Tupperware lid. Sigh... I know... I'm sad.

Developments on the 'Donut of Love'

1) A splash of grey Crown trade acrylic eggshell paint. The colour was mixed from two greys. I choose this type of paint as it's water based with an acrylic formula opposed to vinyl. I used a sponging technique at the end to add extra depth.

2) Bone folder was brilliant at burnishing the copper tape. Its a specialist bookbinding tool which I use for mock-ups at work.

3) Close up of my attempt to countersink the powertaps. messed up one of the holes. b*gger!

4) I countersunk all the electrics to keep it flat.

5) Finished track, with the removable barriers in place.

I'm happy how its turned out. Most importantly I've gained experience and confidence before moving onto the portable track project (coming soon). In an ideal world it would be larger with more space between the track and barriers, however I was limited by the space left on my CNC machined board.
