Good afternoon,

Been reading this link

Rather than repeatedly crashing one of your cars, as I did for the SCX NASCARs, I want to bring my own cars along for the LMP/GT night Thursday week.

I have selected which cars I want to bring along, but these are Scaley Analogue, straight out of the box, so I want to bring these up to spec with everyone else's cars. So, I have some questions (please remember I'm a complete novice, so sorry if these questions are a bit daft or obvious!

1. What make of silicon tyres do you guys put on the rears of your cars? I notice that Scalextric make these - are they any good or can you recommend an alternative make?

2. The Scalextric set of tyres I've seen come with aluminium wheels. Are these 'regulation' at Falcon, or do you just stick the new tyres on the car's existing hubs?

3. I've heard the phrase 'Gluing n' Truing'. What kind of glue should one use? Also, do you have the means to 'True' at the club?

4. The cars I have are 'DPR', so do you guys just use standard Scalextric chips, or something else? Can you let me know the serial number of which ones I'd need to get to chip an LMP and GT car?

Cheers

Hi Steve

This is so easy (the way it should be)

Tyres we use the scalex ones - which you can get at the club from me
No glueing or trueing ( as they are silicone no treatments needed just put them on and off we go )
They fit straight onto exsisting rims

DPR plugs easy again we have them instock as well

It's supersimple racing at The FACON Raceway

Me again, with yet another question...

Is that list of cars in the link I included in my earlier post a final, definitive list of eligible cars, or is it included more as a guide?

The LMP car I planned to bring along is on the list, so no worries there, but I'd planned to use a Dodge Viper for the GT class, but that doesn't appear on the list. Is this OK, or do I need to think again?

Cheers

Hi Steve,

It's an exact list
not really

Now as the Dodge run in the LMS I should think there wont be a problem.

But if you win it's BANNED

It might not be as good as some of the others as is it not front enginged ?

Also is it a DPR or will it need a sloder in chip ?

Steve.

DPR cars are good as you can move chips, so it wont cost you a chip per car

The dodge should be easy to chip

You might have to extend wires and of course use a solder in chip

Lee has these also.

Bring it next time and we can have a look
