Looks really good Steve.

Agree with JP your album is wonderful....try the Slideshow option to view, brilliant stuff!.

I'm not very familiar with Artin products is that hairpin bend you have the equivilent of Scalextric Radius one curve?......If so do you have any problems with your longer wheelbase cars taking the bend?.

The buildings look excellent with the treatment you have given them, Is Artin stuff available in the UK?.

Regards

Truly fabulous! It's going to look even more amazing when you open the gates to the public and the spectators arrive!

I see you have found the first mrrc (revell-monogram) figures. The next 3 sets mrrc released are even more detailed than that set, so if you can find em, get em!

Thanks so much guys. I really appreciate the kind words. I believe Artin stuff is now available in the UK, but I can't recall the name of the stockist. Visit www.slotcarworld.com (hope that's O.K. Nuro) and look under "Artin Dealers" and you should find the listing. It's a great and vastly underrated product, IMHO. My entire layout -- aside from pit road -- is Artin track.

Regarding the Artin R1 or standard curve, it is a little larger than a Scaley R1 curve. Most likely somewhere in between a Scaley R1 and R2. No problems whatsoever at this point with long wheelbase cars. The track works brilliantly. And, it's cheap!

Regarding the trees -- they're all hand-made from Woodland Scenics kits. I used a poly-fibre material, also made by Woodland Scenics, stretched over the tree armatures. I then shoot them with some diluted white glue and sprinkle on fine ground foam of different colors. There are about two pre-made trees on the layout, but the rest have been done by me.

Yes, I agree about the MRRC figures. They're hard to find here in the U.S. though. I'm still painting some of the figures from the first batch I bought. I'd really like to buy some of the SRA figures (we really need a distributor here) and I'm looking forward to Monogram's rerelease of their figures.

Really great. I could spend hours looking at your pictures, very nice.

Regarding the SRA figures, try mailing srapaul here on the forum. I know he is negotiating with a US distributor at the mo but should be able to supply to you direct easy enough...remember to ask for a discount!!

Steve-o,

Track is looking superb my friend.

I've been through your pics several times and it just keeps looking better. The pit boxes turned out heads and shoulders above the normal. The color makes that much of a difference!

I'm so impressed with the stands, I'm ordering several of the Artin Grand Stand kits. My kitbashed ones were a pain, don't look right, and I'm not happy with them. Besides, $8 each is MORE than worth the time I spent trying to do my own.

Haven't done a dang thing to mine but dust it off. Too busy in the yard, fixing up the Chevelle, etc. As soon as I get back from vacation, I'll kick it into gear. I still need to finish stairs, railings, etc.

Talk to you on Tuesday at work.

Aha !, I was searching for these pics at SCI very recently. I remembered seeing them first time round and liked the way you had included an entry road onto the circuit. I wanted to look at them again to get some inspiration for adding something similar to mine.

Thanks for posting them here Steve

PS, needless to say I think the rest of the circuit is excellent too.

Thanks again to everyone -- and thanks to you Fergy! I can't touch the fantastic work you and others do on the scratchbuilt chassis, so this is something I can mess around with that looks halfway decent.

Now, it's time to see some of you guys do this stuff. We have these great looking cars, shouldn't we have a nice backdrop for them?

Anyway, per my edited post above, I realize I've probably overwhelmed Nuro and the good folks here at Slotforum with pics of the track, so I'll hold off on any additional updates for a while.

Oh, and Nuro, I FINALLY have a write-up on the layout that I can send to you. Just let me know off-line how you'd like me to get everything to you.

Thanks again,
Steve
