Started to experiment with scenery and here's what I've done so far. Lot's more to do including the two rivers but that's for another day.

I haven't posted any update pictures of this track in a long time. I've been spending a great deal of time on our wooden track and we just started doing some more work on this track, including converting it to a analog layout with pre-fabricated driver stations and a trackmate RMS system.

The following items were the primary products used for this layout.

also used was spray foam, styrofoam, plaster and cardboard.

Here is an overall view of the layout as it stands today.

Here are a couple of my new Slot-It 'White Kits' - Nissan R-390's roaring down the newly updated area of the track. Flowers and rock formations put in between the straights and in the turns.

Nissan's head off into high banked turn behind an Audi R8 and a Toyota 88C.

The high turn has been given a radical increase in banking which greatly increased speeds in and out of this turn. Lots of scenery was added in this area (plants, trees, bushes, signs, etc.) My two new Slot-It white kits - Audi R8 and Toyota 88C fly through the high bank turn

the cars then head into a downhill turn

and then into the inner track area.

We're currently putting in street lights around the track and some LED strips for the bridges. I'll post pics when we get it wired and ready for night racing.

JJJ - The flower garden wasn't the wifes idea but she was thought of when we put it in. We managed to find some of her favorite flowers 'Tulips' and 'Sunflowers' to put in there. When we were finished with it, we told her we were naming the flower garden after her and that we included some of her favorite flowers. She was so surprised she didn't even notice the new white slot-it kits I had purchased nor did she ask how much all this new scenery stuff cost. You learn a few things after 20+ years of marriage.

I decided that I wanted to put a couple of lighted bridges into this layout while I was working on trying to light this layout for some night races. Each bridge needs to be at least 2.4 meters long for this project. I decided to use 1/4" plywood cut 8 feet long and 8 inches wide and then put some 8 foot long 1 inch x 2 inch strips of wood along the side to form barriers.

It is just wide enough for a piece of SCX track to fit inside.

I purchased a 5 meter roll of 300 LED lights and then proceeded to cut them into 3 LED light strips like in the picture above

I then placed 6 of these LED strips on alternating sides of the bridge barriers as seen above. I also placed 3 strips on the bottom of the bridge to help light up scenery on the layout.

I added some sponsor decals to the outside of the bridge.

12v power supply hooked up to test and see if I wired everything correctly. I did.

Time to install it in the layout and wire it to some power.

Once it finally got dark outside I was able to turn the light's on and see what it looks like lit up on the layout.

I missed the switch to analog earlier. Can you tell us why you got rid of the digital, or is that in another thread somewhere?

I've been trying to come with a way to use the LED's as track lights mounted on some kind of pole to resemble a street light.

After a few proto types heres what I've come up with so far. It looks a little like a giant safety razor as much as it does a street light. I'm still trying to come up with a base for it.

I hooked some power up to it and I was plesed with the amount of light it gives off.

Fusion Fiber, acrylic paint, woodland scenics turf and trees, natural moss, styro, drywall tape, plaster and now scenery begins.

fusion fiber mixed with paint is applied to the area

This turn is just about complete

a tunnel / track support cut out of styro and then covered in drywall tape and then fusion fiber for a weird rock formation, still have a few spots to add fiber to

started to work on this area where I decided to have a park with a path and a couple of WWII memorials. Gray paint mixed with fusion fiber forms the cement path.
