Hi Brent,

if SSD's good enough for you (and I would recommend it) : mid February - i.e. when spare decoders will be on sale

Adapting LCs and sensors should be quite straightforward - you've just got to find some thin material for the track surface immediately above LC solenoids and sensor circuit (just look at the detail pictures on SCI)

Ciao

I meant SCI's photo gallery, where there are many close-ups of disassembled LC & sensor track

As for recommending SSD - heaven forbid I get involved into one of the current squabbles - but it works, spare decoders will be available soon and are designed for compatibility, I'm sure the LC can be migrated to wood easily : pretty much a no brainer

My recommendations :
- do devote a lot of time to track planning, so that you don't come up with a lot of unnecessary LCs - you want a pit lane and some reslotting stations
- think of tricks like swapping the wiring to the two LC solenoids (so lane change becomes the default routing, very useful for the pit lane) and anti-collision interlocks
- if you're using copper foil, check how many power taps you'll need
